grizlsg 0 Report post Posted March 30 Glad I didn’t waste my money on that… never go to the second game of a back to back for the Grizz… that second game is a throw away.

I do think the NBA needs to do away with back to backs, but also do away multi-day layoffs then as well. Maybe work in a full 10 days off for the ASG, and a 4 day break each month, but otherwise, games should be every other day. Move the season further up into October if needed. Assuming an October 15th start for example, that would mean: -One game every other day =164 days -4 days off each month (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar) = 20 days -10 days off for ASG = 10 days 194 days total. That would have the regular season ending on April 26th. Only about a week later than the current season, but with tons of breaks and less load management. f-dizzle 0 Report post Posted March 30 This is what Steve Smith said about Dillion in the playoffs. Could the team trust him? The team had momentum when he came back in. He did not pass the ball one time in the 4th. I know we were severely outmanned, but Luke was open several times and TJ took him out for Roddy. Pitiful. GrizzlyAg 0 Report post Posted March 30 3 points from Ja and Dillon in the last 6 minutes. Terrible. But the story is lack of defense. Clips shot 63% for the night. Zero resistance, Ole defense leading to easy open layups, and wide open looks from deep. Hopefully they won’t be as hot Friday but we need to tighten up defensively. Yes folks gonna look at Ja pts and think he played well but he didn't. Dillon actually played much better than he did. They took a combined 52FGA and no one else has even 10. Its also pretty simple to see why we aren't a good 3pt shooting team. Its because our bad 3pt shooters are the main ones taking the shots. Also i need the guys to start treating Kennard like a Starter and not just another bench player. He needs to get consistent shot attempts.

Holidayinn21 0 Report post Posted March 30 What is this addiction to sitting Ja out for half the 4th quarter? Then we wonder why he's been so bad this season in the 4th. He has no rhythm. But let me guess, that's not the coaches fault right?

Eh Jenkins coaching and subs have been weird all season - even by Jenkins’ own standards.

GrizzTigerFan 0 Report post Posted March 30 It would be nice to see Vince Williams actually play with the main team at some point. Dude always injured.

Ja played 35 minutes in a game that means nothing in the big picture. I would love to read what you people would have written in the coaches played him 38 minutes or more and he got hurt. Yes, there is a 3rd ball brother - LiAngelo, who plays for Hornets G-League team. But that is Jason Preston.

Dillon and Ja scored 66 points together. That's 50% of the points the entire team scored. The other seven players took 43 shots to score their 66 points. But the only players to shoot under 50% from the field were Ja, Roddy and Lofton. Ja hit all twelve of his free throws, and Dillon was 4 of 6. They had 18 free throws, making 16, while the other seven players made seven of 10. Our starting lineup scored 111 points. We beat the Clippers starters by 36 points (75 total points). Their bench destroyed ours. I'm not blaming the bench for the loss, but I'm not blaming Ja and Dillon either. Defense lost us the game, and four of our best defenders were in street clothes for this game. That's why we lost.
chipc3 0 Report post Posted March 30 Anyone trying to make any conclusions from this game really needs to relax. The Grizzlies bench had four rookies and no one else. Even the best rookie's struggle. The Grizzlies didn't have any lottery picks on their bench. They had four guys who either were picked late in the first round, early in the 2nd and not at ALL. The Clippers should be embarrassed the game was that close.

Rewatch the 4th quarter i did. its clear to see that LAC targeted Ja on defense to great success. We were down 1pt when Ja and Dillon came back then LAC lit us up on offense while Dillon and Ja chucked away. Ball movement stopped when those two came back. They were both playing heroball. Which has been problem with our 4th quarter scoring all season. No one is saying the house is on fire or we are doomed based off this game. However, im not ignoring obvious flaws with our play last night because our bench was full of rookies. Santi and Tillman had good games but Ja and Dillon didn't involve them enough in 4th quarter. Rookies werent the problem. Hopefully they learn from it.

The Clippers should be embarrassed the game was that close. It's a good point. Not the embarased part. But that the Clippers are a very deep, experienced team. Hard to remember that the Clips were 4th or 5th in preseason odds to win it all. Their front office had a nice trade deadline. Got off of John Wall and Reggie Jackson. Got Bones Hyland (20 points last night) for two seconds. Got Eric Gordon in the 3-way trade with the Rockets and us that got us Kennard. Got Westbrook off the scrap heap. So those 3 guys had 70 points last night, and they basically got them for a net of one 2nd round pick, and giving up about 10 spots in a 1st round pick swap this June. (Clippers 1st to Rockets, Clips gets the Bucks first.) Down 3 starters last night (Kawhi, PG and Marcus Morris), and they can still go 9 deep in solid NBA vets. Paladin 1 0 Report post Posted March 30 We can't make many judgements about this game and it meant nothing, but it was revealing about our rookies. Frankly,, I was pleased with the way the rookies played early on. I expected mistakes and lack of chemistry. But the chemistry was acceptable from the rookies, and I saw some good plays from each of them. I wish some were playing late n the 4th quarter😏
