Ja Suspended - Away from team

Just curious but how do you believe they are going to do this?

Yeah, agreed, the provenance and ownership of the gun is not the point. If it's Ja's, I hope he is smart enough to lie about it. But smart doesn't seem to be in his repertoire, so who knows?

Ja needs to move into ZBo's house for the rest of the season. Lessons on cleaning up your act and becoming a local hero.

After 15 pages we still don’t even know if it was definitely a gun or a prop/lighter. Even if it was a gun it seems unlikely that it was his. If it was his no charges were filed and if charges were filed then someone would likely come forward to say it was their gun not Ja’s.

That sums it up right?

I am with EVERYONE that this was dumb. I also have to keep it real that I did dumb stuff too - not flashing guns but still dumb stuff. Back in the 2000s my phone would only get grainy video and if I were dumb enough to film myself it would be hard to tell that it was even me 😆

Seriously though this should be a learning lesson. Keep your personal life - personal.

It's the NBA, they will work at their own speed.

Personally, I think the NBA is ****** off. They punished Ja's idiot entourage for the laser light at the Indy bus stunt. Banned his buddy Pack and others from the Forum for a year. And probably thought Ja was getting the message.

And his agent posts like last Wednesday that there is no corrobating evidence that Ja has ever handled a gun.

"“Any and every allegation involving a firearm has been fully investigated and could not be corroborated. This includes the NBA investigation last month, in which they found no evidence,” said Jim Tanner, Morant’s agent, in a statement."  https://www.si.com/nba/grizzlies/news/ja-morants-camp-breaks-silence-on-gun-accusations

And less than two days later, Ja posts an IG live in a strip club HOLDING A GUN. I mean, Ja deserves like a month suspension just for epic stupidity. Like the NBA Mount Rushmore of stupidity. That kind of dumb is rare. There is 23, not 22, dumb. And then there is mind-blowing idiot dumb, which apparently is what we have with Ja.

At least Harden was filmed by bystanders in strip clubs. Ja films himself while carrying heat and posts it. Just wow.

And you're wrong about 'can't  punish for suspicion' . . . The NBA can punish however they want, as long as it doesn't violate the CBA. Donald Sterling never was charged criminally, and they suspended him for life.

By repeatedly making the Forum ban sound worse by calling it a league ban

and

by making up a statement of exaggerated gun denial

and

by implying that the CBA allows the league to punishing someone for suspicion or stupidity (I guess suspicion of stupidity is OK with you too.)

Ever wonder why Duke wins more basketball games than Stanford and Vandy?

Obviously any and all academic standards went out the window for Coach K to go recruit "scholar-athletes" like that.

Yeah, it was sage.

Remember during Covid Kyrie was walking the smoking sage around the court before game time?

Wonder how many more stories we’ll get. Another one from TMZ:

https://www.tmz.com/2023/03/10/cops-investigated-ja-morant-assault-alleged-confrontation-student/

This is something that should not be a story or investigated by cops, but absolutely something that the Morant family and hanger-ons should refrain from getting involved with.  The only reason it becomes national news or gets reported to police is because of who Ja is.  If the family wants to come watch another family member in a HS sporting event, there's no need for an entourage.  If you need security, fine, but they should be licensed professionals.  Not some dude you know that did a year or two of BJJ.  If a student called a family member a name, the family should absolutely not approach said student, and teach that family member how to either ignore it, or properly resolve it.  If it is more serious, inform a school staff member so that they can resolve it.  Absolutely nothing good is going to come of trying to take things into your own hands.

I think the whole family needs to be educated on how to publicly navigate Ja's fandom.

From what I've heard from people who would know, ZBo didn't really clean up his act much, he just got smarter about it and got better PR. But I still love ZBo and think he's a good dude. None of us are perfect.

This not even an incident. I’m not pressed by him showing up for his family. Just don’t show guns on social media or he himself put hands on people. Other than that I don’t care 🤷🏾‍♂️

How many more time is the Morant familiy going to act like total idiots? That's probably the answer to your question.

We've seen Tee's act. Now we're beginning to see that the mom, Jamie, might be the craziest one of all. Makes one have sympathy for Ja that he has these two as parents. From the story and police report:

"A short time later, cops say Ja, Ja's mom and dad, Ja's baby daughter and "a group of" adult males all came into the gym together. According to the documents, most of the group -- excluding Ja's father -- went to confront the student in the stands at the game who had been quarreling with Ja's sister.

"Which one of ya'll called her a *****?" Jamie Morant, Ja's mother, allegedly said.

Cops say in the docs they told Jamie she "can not come upstairs and confront the students and they did not need to make a scene at the school." But, officers say while they were talking, one of the men with Ja moved past police and walked toward students.

According to the report, witnesses on the scene said the man slapped a phone out of a student's hand who had been attempting to take a picture of Ja in the stands ... and then said, "I don't care about none of that, I will beat y'alls ***."

A witness later said that man "was about to pull a gun" -- though cops on the scene said in the documents they never observed a firearm during the incident."

Dude, we know. For you, nothing short of a homicide caught on film will permit you to criticize the Morant clan.

Thankfully, the NBA sees it differently.
