I didn’t realize it, but Ja switched shoes at half.

All that bling was probably weighing him down...

Sure did.  There's still folks on these boards who want him buried on the bench though.

Yep. We even have folks debating whether the Grizz will pick up his $1.9M option. Tend to be the same folks who think Ziaire is good at basketball.

Zero doubt.

Joey, I cooked brownies for my post-game snack. Fresh brownies, whipped cream, strawberries and iced tea. One has to celebrate wins over the hated Lakers.

Now we need the Lakers to lose at OKC tomorrow night.

Good win for Taylor against his buddy Ham.

The Laker fans on You Tube are blaming Coach Ham for the loss because he didn't play Mo Bamba.

Clarke in 15 minutes - 6 points, 5 rebounds on 3-4 shooting.

Vando in 29 minutes - 4 points, 8 rebounds on 1-6 shooting.

Vando is fine, but I'd rather just have Clarke. I think people over rate his defense. He's certainly a good defender, but it's not like he's all-nba or anything either. Once again, he mostly guards PFs or Cs. He guarded Ja like 3 possessions, but the game was pretty much under control at that point.

I will freely admit that I was one of them, but no longer. While he is not SAdams, he has done really well and he does have nice touch around the basket.   I am extremely proud of him and for him for the way he has accepted what the team has put on him in Adams' absence.  At times he still looks overmatched mainly because he is usually attempting to guard the opposing team's 5.  Usually he is smaller.   But he has been holding his own.  He is a 2nd year player, and since he didnt play much last season, the refs probably look at him like a rookie and all rooks have to pay their dues and he gets fouls called on him that just arent fouls.  Its frustrating for him I know, but he keeps on playing.

I remember hearing that he told the team, when he seemed to be buried on the bench, that he wanted to go play games with the Hustle so he could at least keep playing and developing as much as he could.  I really respected that.  And now it paying off.  Very happy for him

Based on his development last year, I am one who thought Ziaire was good at basketball.  I guess I was totally wrong.  That pick is looking more and more like a wasted one.  I dont know what has happened to him.  I remember him knocking down some important 3s in some important games last year-- just playing better than he has this year.  After recuperating from his knee injury at the first of the season, he has just been terrible.  Have no idea why.

oops, my bad.  Its just looks like he does not get the benefit of the doubt like older more established players.  I stand corrected about his time in the league.  But the point remains the same.  ADavis gets tons of calls because of who he is and who he plays for.  Tillman wont get that--and probably wont get it ever like AD does, but as he gets more established in the league, he might get better treatment from the refs

I never thought he was good, so it's hard for me to respond. I think people looked at him being a #10 pick, and he's tall, and apparently didn't watch him actually play.

Imo, the thing people miss about Xavier is that he weighs 270 pounds, but has great lateral movement. For a guy his size, he can really move his feet. It's fun just to watch him play defense. He can't jump much, he's undersized for a 5, can't shoot much. But he does enough things well, and he's really smart, to have a 10-year career as a back-up big.

I watched him play.  Im not saying he was some amazing wing prodigy, but at times I could see what I thought was potential.  But like I said in my post earlier, apparently I was wrong.  I expected him to develop this year not regress.  Not saying he was great last year, but I thought I could see something there and apparently people who do this for a living and are responsible for building the Grizzlies's roster thought so too.  But I guess you knew better and the front office got it wrong cause that is certainly the way it looks now.  He was the #10 pick in the draft and he cannot even make the rotation for a coach who loves to play 10 players a game.  Now that is saying something.
