Welcome aboard Luke Kennard

To me is just about minutes play for some reason TY Lue just didn't play him probably because they have 300 wings and if a shooter doesn't play he can get in a rhythem.

At the end of the day the F.O and coaching just needs someone to hit those dam corner 3s and Luke is pretty much the best in the NBA.

Yes Ty Lue had 300 wings that are also decent from 3.   So it wasn't imperative to play the one that was weakest defender.   He was just on the wrong roster.   He is basically a more accurate Grayson Allen.   I am cool with that coming off the bench as 8th or 9th wing.

Sometimes good players just get buried in rotations, as is being said.

Luke Kennard is not the solution we wanted, but absolutely one that we needed. 3-point shooting has been a bane on this franchise for its entire Memphis run (does that count as double-entendre? I dunno). How many of our teams could have gone even further with a microwave on the bench?

I went back in my memory banks and I remember watching at least one game against the Clips where he absolutely torched us, and I seem to remember thinking "why can't we ever get that guy on our team"? Well, now we do.

We don't have to make him more than he is to be a hero for our team. He has some playoff experience that shows he doesn't shrink from the occasion, so he's absolutely a PO rotation guy. If Santi proves to have ice in his veins in the postseason, we have a dependable 9-man playoff rotation. Heck, even 10 when we have to slot in Tillman for Adams. I know Tillman gets dogged by a lot of people, but for what he does, he does it well enough, and is capable of coming up big.

For me, the biggest question mark is mental. Even if he is a professional through and through, does he want to be here? And can he fit in? I don't mean he's a troublemaker, but the Grizzlies have developed a very distinct personality. Not everybody is going to be a fan. If he's unhappy, it will eventually show up on the floor.

I don’t see why Luke can’t be a microwave scorer off the bench he does more than just catch and shoot 3’s

agreed. I think this young man must be absolutely stoked by the opportunity. we are handing him a great opportunity and if it hits...makes us a much more formidable force in the playoffs.

slim.

Really depends on how Taylor uses him.

GREAT MOVE . look at the Bright side the N.b.a  is FULL of players that miss half the Season . This could be a Low risk signing that could  turn out to be a high  REWARD

That is his role. If he does that, can be a second creator from the PnR aka Bane (he is better than DB on that) and he dont get murder on D we should be fine.

I expect us to move him in the offseason, but maybe his shooting will be so good that we move Konchar and others before him.

If he is good enough to keep then Tyus would be the one moved.    Tyus contract is expiring next year so he is more logical player to package in a deal.

Loosing Tyus will not be easy, but we cant pay that much to a backup pg. I just want to find a backup pg that has enought size to play with Ja.

Bruh … you can’t wait to get the Tyus appreciation thread started can you ?

Im hoping we don’t need one for as long as possible.

His deal expiring next year makes him eligible for and worthy of another , even better deal - from us !

I love what he brings (stability , low turnover rate, measured calm, AND he’s low maintenance) and love what he doesn’t bring ( extra anything !)  He is as balanced as a scale with 6 on one side and half a dozen on the other.

Who don’t you want outta here ?

talm bout he’s the most logical to move as if logic has anything to do with shipping Tyus out ( it doesn’t) and since when have fans’ opinions been steeped in logic ? Mine haven’t… best thing about bein a fan - logic doesn’t factor heavily in the mix.

Look at some of the most recent trade “proposals”

we even have this one poster who regularly finds ways to scheme Tyus Jones outta Memphis …

🤪 Iknorite?

LOL guilty.

I'll feel some kinda way if the following guys are dealt:

  • Ja
  • Bane
  • Jaren
  • Adams
  • Brandon
  • Santi
  • Roddy

Everyone else is available for upgrades.

Tyus wants to be a starter and i think he deserves to be.   Ya'll trying to hold this young man back.  just shameful!  Im trying to help him reach his potential.
