Memphis Grizzlies and NBA Roster Moves

Mavs might need to pick him up. They lost again to Hornets today.

Really hate to see it.  Since it's worked out so well with a former #1 pick who doesn't appear to particularly like playing basketball on a regular basis it seems like a great fit!

There's a good chance the Kings will win out the regular season. Grizzlies don't have the tiebreaker and only have one game they can lose to.

No better than the chances we win out. We have a 4/4 home/away split while SAC has a 3/5 split. They have 3 games against teams with winning records, we have 3 games left against teams with winning records. We play at MIL, they play at DEN.

Pelicans and Mavericks aren't good and Kings should score over 120 on those teams. The Denver game is the last game of the season and the Nuggets won't play for anything. Warriors suck on the road, and the Wolves are on a B2B.

Your forecast didn't even last a game.

It's teams fighting for their playoff lives, as we already saw the Kings aren't good enough to be able to smash a bunch of playoff teams.

The whole kings hype train is out of control. They're decent, that's all, and their record is only  better than a bunch of other western teams because the Kings have had freakishly good injury luck this season. Their starters are all going to have at least 70 starts and their key reserves are all going to play at least 70 games.

Compare to us where Dillon has started 67 games and then nobody else has even started 60.

They're going to be exposed vs healthy teams that actually scout them in the playoffs. I'd be surprised if they win their first round series.

The Kings are good — but it seems like they lack rim protection, or enough defenders in general.

Similar to Denver.  Guess the Kings are Nuggets LITE.  Pyrite would be the name for it.

As opposed to YOUR Memphis Grizzlies who has some of everything. A little of this, a little of that.  Something for the whole family!

I agree.  The Kings dont have anything dynamic about them offensively or defensively and no dominant stars.  The Wolves actually scare me more cause them dudes can really defend.

Who knows? Bottom line is the West wasn't very good last year, and is probably even weaker this year. So much depends on what team you draw.

Kings have some traits that don't bode well for what usually is successful for playoff series. On the other hand, they have the best road record by far in the West at 22-14.

If we played up on their shooters we would win.  Most teams would beat the Kings that way.  Then get to the paint. Although if Sacto takes it to a game 7 then anything can happen.

I will have to look at the standings more closely.... top 2 guys in the conference that teams can’t do anything to stop (not named Jokic) might be Jaren and Walker Kessler.

Ja is something else when he can get going.  And, Desmond/Luke are the new Bash Brothers aka Mark McGuire/Jose Canseco.  ... the Splash Bros. (Steph/Klay) are a bit too cream puff/light weight.

I knew someone would mention that haha. To be fair, Sacramento was winning when I posted that.

Which one is shooting the other full of steroids?

Not sure what when you posted has anything to do with anything.

There are no dominant West teams. To assume any team will win out is a stretch, imo.

But is that record really that impressive in context? They've beat the Clippers, Lakers, Spurs, Rockets and Thunder twice. Their other wins are the Hornets, Magic, Cavs, Raptors, Pistons, Jazz, Timberwolves, Suns, Bulls, Nets, Wizards and the Grizzlies.

The win against us was without Bane and was Trip's third game of the season. Ja missed two free throws that could have tied the game with three seconds left, and we ended up losing by four.

The win against the Cavs was without Donovan Mitchell. The only other wins against teams with at least a 60% winning record at home were against the Raptors and the Suns.

In a word, yes.

Bottom line is we are 15-22 on the road, and much worse lately. And the Kings are 22-14. Can't dismiss almost a season of performance.

HoopsHype has a list of how all teams spent, or didn't spend, their MLEs, both non-taypayer (up to $10.49M) and the taxpayer ($6.479M).

Teams that imo did a good job with their MLE - Nuggets signed Bruce Brown for only $6.479M, Cavs signed Rubio for $5.85M, Warriors signed Donte DiVencenzo for $4.5M, T'Wolves signed SloMo for $8.78M, Kings signed Malik Monk for $9.47M, Wizrds signed Delon Wright for $7.8M.  https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2022/07/how-teams-are-using-2022-23-mid-level-exceptions.html

We only used $1.2M of our $10.49 MLE to sign one of our 2nd rounders, Kennedy Chandler.
