Maybe it would be easier to pair Kyle with Ja and let Jaren come off the bench as a go to scorer for the second unit...

Our 100m new contract is now relegated to s3cond team? What the hell happened?

Thats either Steven Adams workout routine  OR Jokic carrying Nuggets offense!

Yo those Adams Screens have to be hardest I have ever seen they are almost like k.o punches.

I think we might resign Adams for a year or two and give Jaren this type to become the full time Center.

Note to Grizzlies PR:  there was a 3rd player you didn't mention. IIRC JV nailed 26 consecutive free throws this season.

Three points and three rebounds?  The dreaded +/- of a  puke inducing -17.

Can he be traded for a washing machine?  Is Kenmore still a thing?

Even a Noah end of career style was better. Im very disapointed until now. We all knew he was not going to match JV in terms of offfense and rebounding but he was supposed to be a much better defender. If it's not the case.....

His value at the moment seems to be in setting screens and distribution of the ball in half court sets.

He's not a bucket-getter, average on the boards and, thus far, not really existent defending the rim

BTW: I know he came to us in a trade, but for context, we paying him similar money to what Jaren will be getting from next year

Maybe soon, but Jitty and Smiley still rank higher

Dude is sleep walking on defense recently  and it's hurting us a lot especially with JA who is pretty bad on defense.

He needs to pick up the pace on defense I don't care at all how many points he gets.

I go back to what i said initially.   the real value is that it is much easier to bench Adams then it is Jonas.   Adams knows he is just a role player and that is his real value.

If he not producing then he doesn't need to keep starting - simple as that.

Yes and Yes. I think the move was made in part to make Jaren the starting C in the near term. Harder to justify moving JV to the bench. Jaren proved he can be our center tonight by going toe to toe with KAT for the entire 4th quarter and overtime (until he fouled out obv).

I think a bench unit of Tyus, Bane, ZW, Kyle, and Adams can be successful. Adams can set screens for Bane to run around, he can do the pick and roll with Tyus or Kyle, he's still a solid rebounder for that group. Adams can't create his own shot, so having playmakers like Tyus and Kyle next to him makes sense to spoon feed him easy buckets.

I agree with this option. May works well. And it will install JJJ at the C.

Yep but Bane is starting.  Melton will be on the bench because he is so inconsistent.

I think the switching defense style is really not Adam's thing at all.  They keep getting him out on the perimeter and dude just doesnt like it out there.  He backs off the shooter too far and gets torched or in the rare instances he challenges the 3 pt line he gets blown by.

It just may be that you guys are right and we would have to play a JJJ type at the 5 simply because of the defensive scheme.

I'm starting to think they like him as the option 1 with the bench unit. He's started the last two at least 4th quarters with the bench unit. I think it's a good role for him. I think bane is probably a better shot creator at this point (or at least they run more actions for him), so I think that unit makes sense for him. Plus I think melton is better served guarding 1s or 2s (taking the tougher matchup, allowing Ja to take the easier matchup). Bane is more of a 3 defensively (and not a good defender either).

I think they only switch when Ja is involved in the action. When it is Melton or Bane involved in the pick and roll, they seem to fight over it (typically) which doesn't leave the big out on an island. I just don't think the Ja and Adams pairing is working at all. Jaren doesn't mind switching those, as he's rather good at it.
