Firstly I agree, the way he racked up the points, I had to check the box scores to see what the commentators were saying was correct.

Secondly, it was surprising that Jenkins left him off the court and put Clarke in to finish the game, I don't know if I like it, IMO it was a big gamble that could have easily cost us the game.

I don't think Clarke is a finisher, he got beat quite a few times, his rebounding and screening presence is not what Adams can provide. And we need that at the end to open up a lane for Ja because the D gonna be on him like chewing gum.

Adams presents an interesting path to getting players in the future. 

1. Wait for a good player to be traded to or hired by NOP.

2. Watch that player stats and reputation drop like a stone. 

3. Trade for him on the cheap.

4. Profit!

I would have preferred to close with Adams last night also.  Nothing against BC but we needed stops down the stretch...big dude inside banging and cleaning it up seems like a better option. 

That said, what the hell do I know- Coach called what he did and it worked out so there is that

One thing bother me. Almost all people seems very happy to get Adams instead of JV because we knew that if he will not contribute as much as JV in terms of scoring and rebouding, he  will be a real plus in terme of defense...from what i see since the begginning of the season our defense is just bad.....hopefully it's linked with Dillon absence.

Keep in mind that Kyle and DB started majority of the games last season. They are our two best defensive players.    Also Ja is playing more minutes than ever and he is a our worst defender.     When TJ played our better defender lineup (Melt, Tyus, Tillman, Kyle, ZW) the were much more effective.   

I agree with others that Adams defense has been mostly meh but his rebounding has been on par with JV's.   The idea was that his not needing touches on offense will help the offensive flow.     But since we don't have a real offensive scheme it hasn't quite materialized as a positive yet.    Our defense as a whole has been trash outside of when TJ plays a bunch of switchable players.   So i am not pegging our defensive woes on Adams either.    His acquisition is supposed to be just to be more training wheels for Jaren.      However,  If we keep sucking like this then we may need to go ahead and make the switch to JJJ to the 5 and bring Adams off the bench.

think it was 2 games ago, jjj had 2 rebounds. 

let me repeat that- jjj had 2 rebounds for a game and you want to make him our starting 5?

You are basically ready to move on from him.   I want to give him every opportunity to succeed or fail before doing anything drastic.        All of this is he a 4 or 5 stuff makes it difficult to move forward with roster construction.   So yea let's see him at the 5  and pair him with either Kyle or BC.    Exhaust every avenue to help maximize his skills.    Keeping him is still our easiest path to acquiring a Star player to fit alongside Ja.

incorrect. I have said again and again....please jjj, prove me wrong, but I just don't think he is ready. maybe he needs a more structured setting. I actually don't even know if he could be traded during the year- might not be eligible for movement until the offseason anyway. 

Im good with trying some other things...but let's not punish some others or take some L's in order to spoon feed the big fella.

I still do not think JJJ has the skillset or mindset to be a full time center.  Even playing him at PF is problematic.

I think we are spoon-feeding him now by always giving him a security blanket (JV, Adams).   We have closed more than a few games successfully with him at the 5; so i don't understand why starting him there is unfathomable.   It isn't like Adams will be banished from team.   If the opposing center is too massive for him then sub in Adams to help. 

 I just think we need to give him every opportunity to succeed and starting him at the 5 is one of those opportunities.   How is starting Adams punishing somebody?  He is a team player and has never shown to be a malcontent about role.

So the problem with Jaren not rebounding or scoring outside of three point shooting is because he isn't starting at center. Is that what you are saying?

No that is not what i am saying.   Jaren's role when he is out there with Adams is to be a floor spacer.   When he is the 5 he sets more screens/picks and gets more opportunities/passes inside.      I am not focused on his rebounding (we can still team rebound).  I am talking about him getting better synergy with Ja and doing more on offense other than chucking 3s.  

Jaren playin soft for sure and his lack of rebounding and aggressiveness overall is on him.  However, Coaches job is to maximize their best players so TJ needs to make it easier for him too.
