LeVert should have taken it to the basket.

Man, caris had been killing them all game long going to the basket, yet settled for the step back jumper to win. Doesn't make sense.

They don’t care, not like it made any difference for them.

Because it's cool, no lie

Actually I think there's a lot of truth to that.  You see it all the time... even when a team is down by one guys go for the Iso three point shot even though they don't need three... because that's what they've always imagined themselves doing in that situation ever since they were playing their brother in the driveway.

A significant increase in this too post the Lillard 3 vs OKC

Blazers are winning these games by the skin of their behind, people giving up already are whack. They play zero defense, memphis can stay in the game. And don't just ignore that Ja is a killer too.

We match up better without Jaren too imo. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No way clowns.

As frustrating as it was for a Memphis fan to see LaVert miss that shot, if you were outside you could actually hear a whole lot of profanity coming from the Southwest part of the country as Suns fans reacted to that shot.

Lost first bubble game in OT with JJJ playing well, but DB and Ja not playing well offensively.

It was also the last time Josh Jackson played more than 6 minutes in a game.

8 straight wins and they are out. Tough break for the Suns fans.

Can I just celebrate the win against the Bucks just a little bit??? Blazers are tough.  What an end to the season.

Maybe we start Melton and just try to have him face guard Lillard.  Start Dillon at the 3.  We need to come out firing!!!  Our main guys probably need to play major minutes.

We should start Melton and put him on Lillard.  Start Dillon at the 3.  Tell our bigs to pound the glass.

Just finished watching the game (late work). Blazers aren’t all that. Winning by minimal margins against these teams. GT looking like a superstar. Honestly think we match up better with Blazers than the Suns... tough to win 2 yeah. Impossible no way. Need to keep dame within reason (30?) and let the others beat us

Brooks shot 12 out of 18, shooting around 5 out of 18 lately.  This was a major factor.

So, if Brooks shoots well, Grizzlies have a good chance winning.  But, when Brooks is having a poor shooting day, which is the norm, Grizzlies is going to have a long day.

So, coach needs to monitor Brooks' performance closely.  And, when Brooks looks like he's having one of those poor shooting days, he needs to pull in the reigns when the game looks like it's getting out of hand.

Listened to the Windhorst pod  this a.m. (He annoys me, but I'm a glutton for punishement.)

So of course CJ has the broken bone in his back. They said he had a cortisone shot before the game last night. But, apparently you can't just have cortisone shots game after game. So maybe CJ is a bit hobbled for our game tomorrow.

To me, this game (or games) against Portland will all come down to how Jenkins schemes around the Lillard/Nurkic pick-and-roll.

In our prior game, the Blazers started going to this and it put JV in a very tough position - he was either staying back and giving Lillard way too much room to operate, resulting in easy shots for him, or coming up a bit more and then being left behind by Lillard on the drive.

If I remember correctly, there was an adjustment during the 4th where we were actually doubling Lillard on the p-n-r and forcing him to give up the ball which worked for a couple minutes, but then we went away from it after Carmelo hit a couple open threes.

Will we adopt the Nets strategy of getting the ball out of Lillard's hands? Will JV be able to stay on the floor if they start putting him in the pick-and-roll defense every time? If not, who is our other option? Dieng will have the same issues as JV and our best option here (JJJ) is injured, so that leaves Clarke or Tolliver as your big men...which I feel will get abused on the boards by Nurkic.

Good test to see if Jenkins can get clever.
