Because his value atm is minimum contract at best and he won't be able to do anything before option is declined.

So option declined 100%.

I'd like to see him play in a non-Phoenix situation before judging. That franchise is a freaking dumpster fire.

If he does well (like 5% likely) Grizz can signe him next season as a FA.

Jackson wasn't as awful as some claim, his biggest issue will be shedding the knucklehead stigma.  He took a step back in some categories from his rookie year but stepped forward in others. He'll never be a knockdown 3pt shooter,  but he did improve. His biggest knock(aside from the off court issues) is his shot percent.

Jackson was one of the worst players in the NBA during his first two seasons and showed very little growth outside of improved three-point shooting over the second half of last season. He was really that bad.

His turnovers were ghastly, he couldn’t finish at the rim, and he has half of a season’s worth of evidence that he can shoot 3s.

Unless he can prove his shooting or playmaking are legit NBA skills, Jackson shouldn’t be playing with Morant.  Memphis would do better to give those opportunities to guys like Melton, and Dillon Brooks. Playing Jackson should be a last resort until he shows the organization he deserves it.

He took a step forward in assist,  ft% and 3pt %. It's other ways to judge value outside of revolving around Ja.
