My starting line up....

I would put JJJ at the three, Clarke at the four, JV at the five.

JA at the one.    Dillion, or SloMo, or Grayson at the two

Thank God you dont run the team

😁   we'll see if it doesn't turn out that way.   The lineup, I mean.

They might be able to run a 'big' lineup against some matchups but that will almost certainly never be a starting lineup, due to the fact that it'd be a disaster

Clarke can guard pretty much anybody.  Same with Jaren (or at least pretty much most combo forwards and lots of centers).

Jaren can shoot/score like a 3 so if we start both Jaren and Clarke I think we would be ok.  Jaren can shoot and Clarke can dunk and rebound.

Although if we start Clarke we would definitely need a great shooter at the 2.  I think the two starting wing spots are up for grabs.

The only thing I would change if we were playing the Lakers is...

JV at the five.  Dwight Howard at the four.    Clarke at the three.   JJJ at the two.   JA at the one.

Who is Anthony Davis going to guard?

i know jaren can attack close outs, but how good do we really see his ball handing skills? i would love for jaren to form into some hyper big 3, but hes really going to have to develop more perimeter oriented skills

So much obsession over who the starting five is when that unit, whatever it is, will more than likely play less than fifteen minutes a game together.

Clarke hasn't guarded any NBA players for one minute of an NBA game, yet it seems like you have him penciled in for the All Defensive Team.  I think he'll be pretty good, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Come on smit-tay, this happens every year. People get hyped up by somebody's summer league showing and predict the player will be all world. I hope they're right, but the summer league hysteria is as predictable as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.

Yeah, you're right.  People were pretty hyped for Josh Selby's SL MVP, but that didn't work out at all.  I do think that Clarke will turn out to be a solid pick though.

Selby was flashy, he was all offense that didn't involve teammates, Clarkes game is very team centric and that will translate at the next level

I could see situations where the team could run out a lineup that has JJJ playing, for lack of a better term, the 3. Today's game is much more fluid than in the past. That isn't to say I would consider him a 3 by definition. I wouldn't say Kyle Anderson is a point guard but as many people have pointed out he could be used there in certain situations for example.

Agree. I fell in love with him during his SL play but till he has a few games with the big boys I wouldn't get too excited

I think it's fair to be a bit excited about Clarke because he's a 1st rounder unlike the previous host of 2nd rounders, undrafted journeymen and international men of mystery. That said, he'll struggle to adapt to the NBA like every rookie and I don't expect him to be a major factor for a while.

I say by the end of his second or start of his 3rd we see him going crazy

Let's see how Clarke does at FIBA for Canada in a tough division and physical basketball....not sure nick nurse is going to play Clarke/a rookie a hell of a lot...but if he earns his minutes good for him....same for the NBA, we have some depth and young talent on the Grizz where Clarke plays...he will need to show quite a it..I'm kinda projecting 12-16 minutes on average in his first year.

played against and beat zion......do not sell BC short...he just excels

with every challenge...

Clarke projects as a great defensive specialist like Rodman or Battier.  With more offense than Rodman and more bounce/explosion than Battier.  Although I don't see Clarke being a primary scorer, he can probably give you 10 points a night (pretty soon) and 15 (or a bit more) down the road.  Best part: he gets his without having any (or many) plays run for him.  He's high impact/low usage.

I could see that. I would prefer the 15 but once he has another shot added to his weapons watch out

3s have to shoot off the dribble. JJJ only shoots spot ups, he's not a three quit dreaming.

If you need Clarke to play....it means Canada is already dead.

There is a small difference between summer league and a world cup ...you play boys against man you are going to lose.

Well I’ve officially watched every highlight this dude has lol. I’m just as hyped for Clarke as I am for Ja. Obviously they have different ceilings, but I think Clarke will play a big role for us.
