Also, people acting like denver won't be back. The blazers-nuggets series was vets beating rookies. denver won't be green around the ears next year.

bruno is our defensive specialist for the 3/4 and sometimes 2 position...some are worried about his bbiq..i say give him the ta treatment and sick him on certain players depending on match ups and tell him thats his only defensive assignment..he is the only player i have ever seen actually contest durant fadeaway jumer...he shot 40% from 3 in dleague 37% with us...far as draft wise i want reddish even if we got zion i would trade him for reddish.

I think Kyle is a better defender than Bruno.

That was the greatest moment in Raps history, what a game‎. Happy for Marc. Would be nice if atleast one Core4 guy won a ship.‎‎

Too many of the posters here are caught up in the idea of a "NEW" NBA. Then they try to apply that thinking to the Grizzlies and figure out how to make the Grizz look like everyone else. There is no "NEW" NBA, it is the same as it has always been, stars and iso scorers taking over down the stretch.

The ONLY difference is the amount of 3 pt shots being taken in the regular season and early in the playoffs. However iso scorers have ALWAYS been necessary down the stretch of playoff games.

Bird was an iso scorer in tight moments

Jordan was and iso scorer in tight moments

Magic, Isiah, Kobe, all great iso scorers when their teams needed it.

Look at the games this week. Steph and Klay put Houston away, CJ Mccollum put Denver away, Kawhii put Philly out. In each instance this guy took over down the stretch of a playoff game.

Putting together a team to win a title is a puzzle but if you don't have that piece then you cannot do it. Period.

Zbo was that guy for us for a while and the team was built around that. When he started to fade so did the team.

The iso scorer DOES NOT have to be a perimeter player, so long as he is a bucket getter. He has to be able to get buckets against locked in NBA defenses. Then you build the team around him regardless of what position he plays.

The first question the Grizz must answer is what kind of player is JJJ going to be. Then build around that because he is going to be the franchise for the immediate future.

vets win championships. philly and denver found that out the hard way. golden state got lucky with their first title. it's also why the bucks are going to lose in the conference finals. they are too young.

Veteran experience makes a big difference, but trahezy is correct about having a guy who can get buckets in iso situations.

Ohhhh yeaaa forgot he was on that Celtics team. Wasn"t that the year he was injured on that dunk tho? Whatever, it'll be even nicer if two Core4 guys win then lol.

Funny thing is that CJ and Kawhi dominated Game 7s from mid-range today.

I know, I know......analytics, blah blah.

I was glad to see Portland beat Denver, because they at least have a "punchers chance" against Golden State.  Denver probably would've gotten swept.  I've said this before about McCollum, he earned my respect when he called out Durant for running to Golden State after failing to beat them while on OKC.

I think Toronto loses to the Bucks.  Except for Lowry and Ibaka, everyone on Toronto not named Kawhi was scared to shoot the ball.  I'm rooting for Toronto, but if Gasol and Siakam don't find their stones, they don't have a chance.

If I was Philly, I would've totally taken the ball out of Kawhi's hands and dared one of the other guys to beat me.

Very entertaining games today.

Ok ... we’re back out here !

Anybody else kinda like the way we get to watch 2 teams with one established superstar instead of  a good team vs all-star everything?

Kawhi

vs

the Greek

lets Gooooo!

Bucks took over the game with Greek Freak benched. Bad sign for the series. Too many quality performers.

Kawhi can only do so much with that roster he has. He can't afford to score 2 points in the 4th quarter. To me, the fact that he's gotten them this far is a testament to just how good he is.

Other than Giannis who is 24, every other player on the team that plays minutes are 26 to 33. If feeds my theory, which is that winning a championship requires 27 to 30 year old players.

It's going to be tough for the warriors to beat this team. But I see a hell of a finals coming. Might be one of the best nba finals we've seen in a while.

The last great nba finals we've seen, against 2 equally matched teams, was hell the Rockets vs New York Knicks in 94. The Spurs vs Detroit was a good finals too, and people might think that Cleveland vs Warriors was good, but that was the commissioner's doing (suspending draymond) to get a more competitive series.

Cleveland vs San Antonio was a great series too.

I see this series against the Bucks and Warriors as a potential G.O.A.T.

I think the Raptors can still make this series interesting but that hinges on Marc Gasol... so I guess you could say the odds are not in their favor.

Gasol is done. They should have never traded JV and the young players to Memphis.

yeah, I didn't look at the team before I posted that they were too young, so I was wrong about that. They actually have a chance to win the title.

So sad that CJ and Dame game has abandoned them against GSW.    If either one of them provided their normal production- series would already be tied.     they look like playoff James Harden out here!

Just a general curious question. Dame lays playoff duds like this all the time. So why is he never "choking" and Harden is...while Harden has probably had more playoff success overall?
