It just seems The Grizzlies gave up a lot for a journeyman player? Ben Mac was on an expiring contract as well, I can see Moving DD for him, but DAAAM, him, DD and a 2nd round pick? Seems a bit excessive to me. Hey we all have an opinion and that's just my take on it. Like I think we should have taken: Wendell Carter as well. SMH.

Carter Jr. finished the game with a mere 9 points on only 5 field goal attempts but he added 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. This is the second consecutive Summer League game that Carter Jr. has finished with at least 4 blocks (he had 5 blocks in their first game). We all knew that Carter Jr. was a solid defender, but he didn’t get to showcase it very much in college because Duke primarily played in a zone defense. I think it’s safe to say Carter Jr. is already blowing away expectations on the defensive end of the court Wendell Carter Jr. isn’t only showing his defensive worth by sending shots into the stands, he’s also shown an incredible ability to switch onto guards, showcasing his lateral quickness. His basketball IQ is already elite and he shows it by the way he defends. He isn’t stat hungry and he doesn’t gamble for steals. He consistently makes the right play – he simply makes it hard to score. Another skill he has in his defensive bag is that he contends jumpers extremely well, making it hard to score on him in any way, shape or form. That’s something that often gets overlooked because it doesn’t show up in the simple box score, but having a solid contest on a jump shot can make a huge difference in the outcome.

Another wasted pick and talent? The Memphis Grizzlies have had quite the 2016 NBA Draft, and they finished it out at #57 overall with the selection of Wang Zhelin of Fuijan. He was 7'0", 250 pounds in 2012 according to DraftExpress and was not even on Chip Williams' big board for us at GBB.

Who else wanna come to Memphis? The team and fan should be happy to get anybody who is an upgrade over Chandler Parson

If Memphis doesn't pick JJJ, where do you think he would have fell too? Dallas, definitely wasn't picking him? I think he would have went to Orlando at #6 or Bulls at #7, but then again Orlando wanted him or Carter? I just don't think he would have went that high.
