  1. He has been getting the same amount of defensive rebounds as Adams (except for Miami game) as of recently. Jaren just doesn't get offensive rebounds and Adams racks up on those. This is mainly because Jaren is out on the perimeter half the time, while Adams is always camped out underneath. Adams also picks up self rebounds off of his misses or tips. When Jaren is around the basket with the ball, it almost always goes in.
  2. I have a feeling that we will see something happen with trades. Might be minimal, or it could be something big. Kyle, Tyus, Merrill, and Culver all have expiring contracts and we have three 1st round draft picks. Do we trade any of these guys before the deadline? Package them with some draft picks? Do we combine some draft picks to move up higher? Do Pons and Tillie get full roster spots?

    Culver

I sent Jenkins an email and told him we'd like to see more Culver while ZW is out, so we can make a decision on whether we think Culver should be in the rotation when everyone is healthy. Awaiting his response.

Ja's injury might be the best thing to happen for the grizzlies this season.

Haha, not trying to debate anything. Just pointing out that if he was exposed, he could still get it, even if he's vaxed and be out longer. Hopefully, he doesn't, and hopefully that knee is just about ready.

But it's possible he could still develop COVID. Two shots and booster don't necessarily prevent it.

Is there a zero as the divisor in the formula?

So rebounds don’t count if you’re bigger or better than the other team?

    Culver

I wouldn't go that far. We moved a lot of guys around this Summer to get off some money on the books for future contracts and pick up some draft picks. He was just one of the guys in the shuffle. Doubt he was anyone we went after, just someone the Celtics were willing to give up. Him and Merrill beat out Sean McDermott and Kris Dunn for the final roster spots. He did not impress the Grizzlies enough to pick up his Rookie 4th year option for next year at $8.1 million. He is the highest lottery pick to not have his 4th year option picked up since Josh Jackson. I'm not against him having a role on this team after this year, but I'm glad we weren't going to pay him $8 million to stay another year for mop up duty. When you get just as much or less production from him as some others we are paying $2 million or less for, I don't see why we'd want to pay him that much. He will be an unrestricted FA so there may be some other interest in him. Or not, who knows. If we signed another deal with him, I don't think we should pay him anymore than we pay Konchar. Unless he starts playing more and producing more. We've also got 4 draft picks coming up, so we may need the roster spot too.

That's what's great. In the OKC game when the last group was in in the 4th quarter, all the starters were standing and cheering them on. They are invested in the team and the other players. They don't check out once they're out of the game. As soon as the game is over and Fisch grabs someone for the oncourt interview, another player always comes over to celebrate with them. I've heard multiple Grizz players mention how close they are. Can anyone remember when there was any negative reports/rumors about attitudes or friction. There was the long player meeting the other week, but that was in good light as there was no finger pointing or blaming. As a team, they recognized there was a problem and wanted to come together to fix it.

    Impressed by Adams (sometimes)

6-8. I’m not going to complain about that.

Well, we didn't miss out on him. Unless we had the chance to move up even further in the draft. But him taken 2 spots ahead of where we drafted, I don't consider that as missing out on. The Warriors may have wished that picked him instead.

I think that will be a key to the future. Doesn't need to take a huge step back, but maybe around 10+ shots a game. Just take the more open shots, the open 3's, and the drives to the basket. Just cut back on the heavily contested jump shots and those shots that make us say "Why Dillon, Why?" He'd be able to get his FG% way up if he did that.

Spot on. I’d like to just chalk up the inconsistency to our youth and lack of experience. If the core group of this team stays together and stays healthy, it could be some exciting years ahead. They’ve got good team chemistry and get along well. As they continue to grow and develop, should get even better.

Ja’s main responsibility needs to be able to read what the defense is giving us/ identify weak matchups or mismatches and give them the ball (or keep it himself if the mismatch is on him). Also, if someone has the hot hand, keep feeding it to them (or take it himself if he has the hot hand.).

We’ve won two of three since last update. You can check the box scores online. Shaq has been the top scorer, but he does shoot a lot.

Well, it helps we’ve played some bad teams and teams with their best two sitting out. let’s see how we do vs Miami and the Lakers and Mavs with Luka and Porz

Is Taylor Jenkins a good coach?

Absolutely. There's times this season when he looked like he didn't even belong on the court, and over the past 4 games, has been incredible for an off the bench player. Overall, I think he's a solid, dependable guy you can bring into the rotation when you have some guys that are sitting out, but he will struggle against elite competition.

Yeah, Bane was low scorer on the night with 2 points. Wonder what the odds were on that happening.

Is Taylor Jenkins a good coach?

How much should a player get that scores 17 points in 16 minutes, going 3-3 from the 3, with 3 assists and 5 rebounds. Wouldn't you think that that player was severely underpaid at $2.2 million. Then what if I told you that was John Konchar in garbage time against the Hawks? You're right, you can't just pick out a single game.
  23. I doubt the Lakers will finish that low this year
  24. My thoughts exactly. We make one more basket against the Lakers, we are sitting in 5th place right now.
