    Lorenzen Wright's Murder Solved?

With her antics since being arrested, I doubt if they'll let her out on parole. It's a long time between now and the parole hearing but she's had what 2 or 3 incidents since being arrested. Not to mention her inconsistent stories. It's hard to say and Memphis has a history of being lenient on women who kill their husbands (I remember watching some documentary on the History channel awhile back specifically on that topic) but I think she will sevre at least 15 years. She should serve the entire sentence being that she set him up to die not once but at least twice. Also, I assume she would have to pay the insurance company back. Sure she doesn't have any money but I would assume they would want the money back being that she orchestrated the hitm

To convey or not to convey

I don't see us being in a position to convey. As it stands now, I would say we will have one of the 3 worst records in the League if we start the season tomorrow. We might as well take our licks this season, get a top 3-5 pick and then convey in 2021

i'm wondering if they would stretch him and waive him but that would be one heck of stretch. I don't see him being traded. HOU got beyond lucky because they wanted to get rid of him and I'm sure there were no suitors for his age and salary. This was about the only trade and they lucked up.

Grizz Acquire Iguodala, 1st Round Pick from GS

Sounds like Mavs fans wanting to dump CLee The Grizzlies' so-far response, DBcom has been told, is that they are unwilling to take on the ballast of Lee's $12.759 million salary in such a deal. The Mavs would love to employ Iguodala in the starting lineup or off the bench, where he was so helpful to Golden State during their title run before the Warriors recently salary-dumped him to Memphis.

Tyus Jones, Grizzlies agree to $28 million offer sheet

I don't disagree with any of that. My issue is simple. We don't have any proven scoring on this roster right now. I really don't care about analytics and not playing defense in this scenario. You wanna know why?.....because we're going to suck next year regardless of what we do and will more than likely suck the year after that as well. There's a good chance that we will have one of the worst 3 records in the league next year. it's a difference between being horrible and being bad yet competitive. With as much cap space as we have next year, there's a good chance, we need to have a bad contract. We can still sign a big contract next year even with WIggins contract on the books because we will have that much space. Me suggesting Wiggins is not to have him as our core. it's to bring him on strictly as a scoring role player for a couple of years, that's it. Similarly to how i suggested we go after Hayward in a Conley trade. i'm just looking for a proven NBA scorer for a year or two, nothing more, nothing less. This team has virtually no proven scorer next year. JV had a nice run of 19 games with us, JJJ and Ja have played a total of 58 NBA games. This team will be really bad next year. All I was saying is add a scorer. It's not going to stop us from signing any big name player next year. Fact is, FA will be bad next year and we have no shot at the best players. I'm just looking for a scorer and from what I saw, there were really only 3 available-Hayward, Wiggins and Warren. i don't think we can get the other two. We can develop people and do all of the stuff you said, with one bad contract on our books. He's not taking shots from Ja and JJJ. It's well known it's their team. He just needs to score for a year or 2 and then trade him, unless ha makes a dramatic turnaround and helps us win, then keep him. First, I'm not lobbying anyone in particular. I'm looking at different people to add as a scorer. i have mentioned others but people always want to go back and forth on Wiggins. I don't care about Wiggins. I'm trying to get us a scorer. our 2 best returning scorers are JJJ who barely played more than half a season and JV who only played 19 games for us. Ja hasn't even played in summer league. Ja will make players around him better which is why I think getting someone who has a scoring mentality would help the young guys out because Ja will also make tons of mistakes. JJJ was constantly in foul trouble last year, Brooks is really not that good, Josh Jackson is a stone cold weedhead who doesn't care about basketball and makes bonehead out of control plays and there will be many nights when Clarke is overmatached. People can talk about all of this run and gun but if we don't have the right players and we're relying on a rookie, it could be a disaster. Jae Crowder, Kyle Anderson and JV really don't fit a pace and space, run and gun style and those are guys we are relying on as of right now. I don't see eJV or Kyle being traded anytime soon being that JV is about to sign a new deal and Kyle has a 15% trade kicker. We don't have shooters, we only have a handful of guys who can really run the floor and we have a rookie head coach. It has disaster written all over it. All I'm saying is get a proven scorer, simple and plain. i have no faith in Dillon Brooks or Josh Jackson or Kyle Anderson or Tyus Jones or Jae Crowder or anybody else on this roster to be a consistent scorer after JV and JJJ and it's not like I expect either of them to average 20 ppg. We're going to be terrible next year.

Tyus Jones, Grizzlies agree to $28 million offer sheet

Have no clue and really don't care. That was the perfect opportunity for him to rehab his image. Instead, he's nowhere around, no comments no nothing. Exactly how he did the Suns. I'm thinking there is a higher probability that this will be a move that we regret than the probability of him working out. I hope they trade him somehow.

I don't want Jackson anywhere bear this team. He's a headache in the making. So it's Wiggins VERY lute with a high headache. He should have been at Summer League. I don't want that idiot to ever wear a Grizz uni.

On who? We would still have considerable cap space even with Wiggins on board. We will have a crapload of cap space next year. If we trade for Wiggins, we would still have significant cap space. i'm not saying bring him in to be your #1 guy. I don't care about him being a former #1 pick. I don't care about what went down in Minny. I'm just saying it gives us a scorer. There are two things in our favor as long as Wiggins performs- 1. His contract will get shorter after each season making him more tradeable and 2. Salaries are rising. Once all of these new salaries come in, he won't even be in the top 25 in salaries in the NBA and going forward, teams will have to spend upper $20 millions to get a guy who can give you high teens/low 20s in scoring. He can get us 20 ppg next year. I'm not worried about his defense. We're not trying to win a championship next year. I'm not worried about him being labeled soft. He's not the face of the franchise and he's not the team leader. He would be a role player and his role would be to score. With Ja and Tyus setting him up to score and with JJJ and JV's passing abilities. i think he would give us 20 ppg in spite of his other deficiencies. We would give it a 1-2 year trial to see how it works and then move on.He would be tradeable on a 2 year contract, easily. I'm not taking any shots at Memphis, but exactly who would we sign with all of that cap space? Our best bet is to go after someone who needs a fresh start via a trade. A Z-Bo type move and Josh Jackson ain't it. I live Dallas. Dallas is the 5th largest metro area in the U.S., it's booming, new jobs everywhere, new construction everywhere, companies moving in all of the time, people are moving here at ridiculous rates, it has all 4 major league sports (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL). You would think it would be an attractive market. The Mavs have a charismatic, personable team owner, they have the reigning rookie of the year and a guy labeled the unicorn. Two players everyone would want to play with right? They have won a championship in the last 10 years. You would think it would be a desirable franchise right? Guess what, Dallas struck out on every free agent they went after. They couldn't even get a meeting with Patrick Beverley. if Dallas is struggling to sign FA with all it has going for it. What in the world would make anyone think Memphis could go out and get big name free agents? It's obvious to me that in the short term, more superstars are calling their shots and they want to live on the coasts. We would only be able to sign Chandler Parson type free agents who we clearly vastly overpay. I'd rather make a trade and give it 1-2 years while Ja and Jaren develop. I'm just looking at it as we need a scorer and not sure how many are available for us to get and then, I don't really see anyone to after in 2020 FA. It's a gap contract to get us from where we are to where we need to be. We are going to have to take some bad contracts to fill some of this space. I would much rather have someone who can be productive as opposed to more contracts like Miles Plumlee and Solomon Hill.

And no one to spend it on. We could give like 3-4 $12-$15 mil deals but is it worth it? The FA class isn't as strong next yeara nd we have zero shot with any of the bigger named ones.

According to this, it looks like the Knicks ($14.8 mil) and Mavs($13.8 mil) are the only teams with significant space left under the cap. Atlanta and Indiana are also about $5 mil under the cap and a couple of more teams less than $2 mil under the cap. Limited options as far as getting some team to absorb Howard.

Tyus Jones, Grizzlies agree to $28 million offer sheet

If they're pursuing max cap space, I wonder if they would take our junk for Wiggins and we could give him a 1-2 year trial period. He would be tradeable after that. We could send Hill, Jackson and Howard (works in the trade Machine) That way, we wouldn't have to put up with the headache of Josh Jackson. Minny gets a lot of 1 year deals to help them clear space. We get a contract on our books to help us eat cap space for next year, because we will have a ton of cap space next year and I'm not sure if there are desirable players out there to spend that cap space on.

Probably so. I really wonder if they asked him to join the team out there to get to know the guys. If they did and he didn't, that's strike #1. He doesn't have 3 strikes. In my mind, he would be on probation until early September. If he screws up or ignores your rules, trade him. If you can't trade him, decline his option and try to move forward. If he starts acting a fool or it's obvious he hasn't worked on his game, just waive him.

Good read (I don't think it's been posted or maybe I missed it) Rebuilding with a purpose: Why did the Grizzlies pursue Tyus Jones and trade Delon Wright? Also, if you look around the internets, especially the internets affiliated with Minnysoetah, you'll see that the majority of fans didn't want him to go. I think someone posted one story but there's a couple of more out there, not to mention comments on Twitter and comments in the Star Tribune. The fans really liked and appreciated him up there. They say he does a lot of things that don't show up in the stat sheet, but then again, he's from Minneapolis so it may be hometown love..I think we'll be fine.

He'll probably sign last similar to what Conley did when we signed Parsons. We can go over the cap to resign our own guys so they're probably trying to get all of teh other moves out of the way first and then sign hi last. Teams have done that a lot.

    Dwight to Memphis (sources say)

I'd trade him strictly for cap space. I mean, if we waive him, he's going to be on our salary so if somebody takes him off of our hands for nothing, I'd be like sure. Just not sure how many teams have cap space since these sites are still being updated. It looks like ATL has about $4 mil in cap space. I'd take on a smaller contract from ATL. Looks like they have a couple of $1.5 mil contracts. In the big picture, we would have come off of CJ Miles guaranteed $8.7 mil down to $1.5 mil but the question is, why would ATL do it and I don't have a good answer.

1st piece to puzzle resolved...D Wright

I wa just answering your question that was posed. As I said, it depends on how you define athletic. Obviously, it's not just about jumping high but if somebody is jumping high and winning dunk contests, he will get the label as being athletic.
