People are backtracking now: Sam AmickVerified account‏@sam_amick The reported Allen Crabbe offer sheet agreement with Brooklyn is being refuted. He has meetings coming on the 5th, I'm told.

Lin gave them a huge discount to play in NY. He could have gotten much more on the open market.

Allen Crabbe, 4 years, $70 million to Nets. That's for a guy who averaged 10 ppg and did nothing else.

Exactly, that's just the NBA, they will figure out a way. Trust me. They have already done their due diligence and they know what they need to do in order to sign him. They would have never brought him in if they hadn't figured it out. Do you know how embarrassing it would be for a franchise to bring a superstar in and said superstar decides to sign with them and then the team is like "uhhh, sorry dude, we didn't actually think you would sign with us, we were just blowing smoke. There's no way we can sign you"? I can't think of any examples off of the top of my head but there have been situations where on the surface looking at the rules it doesn't appear that a team could make a certain move, but they still make that move. There's tons of lawyers and bean counters everywhere. They'll make it happen.
  6. I'm always leary of people who put up stats on bad teams. A lot of times, it's empty stats. Take for instance Rajon Rondo. Rondo led the league in assists (edit:he just signed with the Bulls). As a matter of fact, Sacramento just said they are moving on from Rondo. A lot of that has to do with his attitude but the guy pads his stats and puts up empty stats. this excerpt from that article explains it much better than i can: To me, it doesn't matter if it's Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay, Lance Stephenson, Tony Wroten , Michael Beasley or the great James Ennis. When you are playing in a state of chaos and putting up nice numbers in a losing system, I don't trust those numbers. By definition, chaos is a state of disorder. When you have a desperate team operating in a state of disorder, you don't have a system. Players will put up numbers on a team without a system, but those teams generally lose. i just don't trust that players who put up numbers on bad teams can translate that success and that productivity to winning teams with specific systems and schemes that's all. Nothing against Ennis or anyone else.

Josh Richardson? Why is he available? i thought he was under contract with the Heat.I always liked him and wanted us to pick him up late in the draft. I would try to swing a trade for Tyreke Evans before spending money on most of the guys on that list. NO has lost Gordon, Anderson, Ish Smith, and the great James Ennis. They may want to start over to give Davis a better supporting cast.

Garrett Temple just signed with Sacramento. Have no idea who Garrett Temple is. Seems like the lesser known players who I don't know about play on EC teams. Anyway, I would assume this means that Sac is out on DIon Waiters. Not a fan, but if he's available for cheap and we can get him. Let him come off of the bench and jack up shots to his heart's content.
  9. Calm down. People are just having fun, you should try it sometimes. Everyone supports the guy and hopes he will do well for the Grizz because they want the Grizz to succeed.
  10. Well, if anybody can do it...it's Ennis! I'm pretty sure he'll start complaining in a couple of weeks about what a stupid move it was to bring Ennis back, just give him time. It was easy for him to support Ennis when he was no longer on the Grizz but now that he's back, I'm positive IIWII will find something to complain about
  11. Good thing Ennis can play the 1 through the 5. He needs to work on his 3 pt shot though, shooting 70% from 3 just ain't gonna cut it on our team.

Which is hilarious because they didn't want to max out Parsons.

Woj: Parsons To Grizzlies, 4 Yrs $94 Million

So the Mavs getting into a personal urinating match with Parsons agent over offering him the max. They basically told him, if he's a max player go out and get a max contract offer, well, he got 2 before cancelling the rest of his meetings and agreeing to the Grizz. Now they go out and offer Harrison Barnes a max contract? Wow, just wow and let's not forget, Wesley Matthews is on a max contract. I was just listening to the radio and a Mavs insider mentioned that as recently as a few days ago, they had planned on keeping Parsons and had no interest in Barnes. They wanted Parsons to take a lesser deal in the hopes of bringing others in and he basically said no and now they are offering a guy who they supposedly didn't even want in Barnes a max deal. Don't ever let your ego get in the way of business....business never person.

How Can One Team Be This Bad At Drafting?

Because this is a Grizz board with Grizz fans. I don't care about those other teams or what they missed on. i care about the Grizz. We had 4 straight lottery picks and only 1 is in the NBA. Thabeet and Henry were horrible lottery picks. Sure teams hit and miss all of the time, don't care about them, care about the Grizz and just evaluating all of the opportunities that we have squandered over the years.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojVerticalNBA 1m1 minute ago Free agent forward Andrew Nicholson has agreed to a four-year, $26 million deal with the Wizards, league source tells @TheVertical. I have no idea who Andrew Nicholson is. Had to look him up and saw that he plays about 14 mpg for the Magic. A team that was below .500. So playing 14 mpg off of the bench for a sub .500 team is what gets you $6.5 mil per in this market.
  16. Hadn't thought about Monta. I'm not sure if I would want him as a starter though. Monta needs the ball in his hands and that's part of the reason people are speculating that he will be traded from Indy. Teague has the ball a lot similar to Mike has the ball in his hands a lot. If he could swallow his pride and come off the bench, he would be perfect. i just can't see the Grizz rolling out a starting lineup with such a small backcourt as Conley and Ellis and both are ball dominant. He would have to come off of the bench here. If he accepts that, then I'm all for it and throw the remaining $8 mil at Pau. Just not sure if we have the assets to get Monta though.
  17. We need another scorer and Jamal Crawford is available. An aggressive scorer off of the bench would help this team greatly. it sounds like the $3 mil we used on Ennis isn't counting against our available cap space so we still have about $ 8 mil to offer.
  18. Yeah, I've been thinking that if we can get Rudy and start him at the 4 and bring Z-Bo off of the bench, that lineup would give teams fits.

Lee to the Knicks (4 year $50 mil), Gordon to the Rockets (4 year, $53 mil). We missed out on all three (Lee, Gordon, Afflalo)

Woj: Parsons To Grizzlies, 4 Yrs $94 Million

He played 1 game in the 2015 playoffs and actually had to have surgery on his knee. To me that shows how much of an idiot Carlisle is. You know, it's similar to Brandan Wright when the grizz kept telling him to play but come to find out, he need surgery. People on this board ripped the Grizz but Carlisle is right to try and force an injured player to play? He missed the 2016 playoffs because of an actual injury, not a minor injury, not a minor soreness, but an actual injury. How is that soft? Just FYI, on Dallas sports talk radio the past couple of days, one of the big topics has been why can't the Mavs lure FAs. One station had fans call in. Let's just say a large number of fans pointed to Rick Carlisle and his outdated system and old school ways as to why players don't want to come to Dallas. Think about that one.

Woj: Parsons To Grizzlies, 4 Yrs $94 Million

Jared Sullinger is a restricted FA so Boston can match anything that you offer. Lee has been on a career decline the past couple of years and has been dealing with injuries longer than that. Let's not forget when Lee was a free agent and actually good, he basically laughed off coming to Memphis. Johnson avg 5 ppg and is a career 27% 3 pt shooter. Mbah a Moute? I didn't even realize that he was still in the NBA. 3 ppg and career 30% 3 pt shooter. Seriously, this is the team that you would put together? You do realize that there is an $85 million salary floor so every team would have to spend that amount. So you would offer $15-$20 million deals to guys like this? What the heck has Moe Harkless done? Career 30% from 3, rather pedestrian stats. You do realize that you would have to offer these guys around $12-$15 mil each to round out the roster.Sullinger is probably the only one who could contribute to a winning team and he's a restricted FA.
  22. Well, he signed a 4 year, $42 million deal with the Pistons so he ain't coming back this off-season

Chris Wallace's First Off Season As The Decision Maker

No one said that. We just said that he has not had complete power and there were times when Heisley over-ruled him and made decisions. When Levien was here, Wallace was nowhere to be found, so yes, this is the first off-season since he has been here were he can be looked at as teh key decision maker.
