It's Time To Talk About Marc Gasol

Gasol is way better and a championship is worth all the #1 picks in the world.

I bet Rolo doesn't get shut down by Harrison Barnes in the playoffs..

It's mind blowing to me how Gasol can be lumped into 'Grit n Grind' with Zbo, TA, Conley, etc just because he was there.  Everything he represents stands for the opposite of grit and grind..

Zbo was a hard nosed bulldog

TA was a elite defensive killer

Conley played through a broken face, eye socket, foot, and never makes excuses

Gasol was/is a soft diva that goes out without a fight....?

Gasol was a former Defensive Player of the Year. Stop it

I can't stand Marc either, but he's a former DPOY. No need for the revisionist history.

Dwight was a former defensive player of the year and one of the best defensive players ever in his prime.  Would you consider him Grit n Grind mindset and culture.?

Gasol has never been "shut down" by Harrison Barnes and to even try to say so is ridiculous.  All you guys want to point to a couple possessions in a game where he had the mismatch and didn't try to take advantage of it, and then you want to act like Barnes was guarding him all game.  Some of you are really reaching to satisfy your Gasol hate.

Yes he was! Him and Draymond shut him down.  Let's go back and rewatch that series shall we?

Also having a GUARD on you and not taking advantage of that mismatch is unexcusable, Marc fan or not.  There are times as recent as this year he's had Harden on him and will pass it out of the post.

Your exaggeration skills are noteworthy if nothing else.

I see I have to break this all the way down. Lebron has to be a 4/5 for them to beat GSW.  He has to be the post player and play centerfield on defense. They cant get even slower. You need tons of switchability to beat the death lineup. Not slow bigs who suck in the post. They already have one in Love.

Lebron cant do all he has to do AND defend Durant. We saw how that went.

If Lebron is on the court with Love and Gasol he will be guarding Durant the whole time. Smith will be guarding Klay. IT on Curry which is bad enough trying to watch IT chase him on screens. Love/Gasol will have to chase Iggy/Draymond on fast breaks. And not much switching or it will be murder.

If for example Lebron has to pick up Draymond or Iggy on break to stop the ball...who now picks up KD? Lol big Marc?

Its a good concept on paper to go big but we all know Love/Gasol wont make them pay for playing Durant/Green up front. Not at the same rate of what you are giving up defensively. Not even close.

If the trade doesnt help against GSW they wont even consider it. If anything they need to offer up Love/pick for Ant Davis.

Yep at this point trading Gasol or Tyreke to Cavs is a pipedream.    They don't need either one of them.   IMHO Boston, Toronto, Milwaukee, and Portland are the only realistic landing spots for Marc based on need.

The problem is there are 48 minutes in a game and LeBron wore down last year. Gasol/Tyreke gives them a chance to keep pace minus LeBron. Also makes sure Curry has nowhere to hide on defense. Can’t stick him on JR and have Klay on IT because Curry wants no part of Tyreke one on one.

You guys keep thinking the Cavs are going to get the Gasol we are seeing when they are going to get the one seen this summer with Spain.

No other trade will get them two guys like that...

So taking Crowder off the court for Gasol so Lebron has to guard KD full time is how you keep Lebron fresh?

Kerr has shown he will start that death lineup and play it most of the game in the 2015 Finals if he has too. They wont give up a piece like the Brooklyn pick if it doesnt help against the versatility of the death lineup.  Thats really just common sense. Lebrons resting wont matter cause they will be down by 20 once Kerr lets the sharks loose on a Gasol/Love frontcourt.

...and if you were Gasol, which, if any, of those teams would you waive the trade kicker for? The only shot would be Boston IMO, and Ainge being Ainge, and Wallace being Wallace means the Grizzlies get fleeced.

Heck yes. Sad but true.

It will be a whole different equation when he is just a guy playing off of LeBron, IT and Love.

True! Marc with them OR Boston will change the whole dynamic. He may average 8 assist AT LEAST

A team where all he would have to do is facilitate and take open jumpers. Yes.

Marc's trade kicker is 15% or less than $3M. That's not going to stop a trade from going down. At those salary levels that probably fits in the wiggle room for salary differences.

Pretty sure Boston & Cleveland wants competitors not fragile divas.  Although, Phil Jackson & Kobe were able to turn Paus mindset around...maybe LeBron or Brad Stevens can too.

Pretty sure your hate for Gasol is only overshadowed by your love for Fizz.

You are aware that LeBron can play PF next to Gasol correct? Gasol/Love is infinitely better than Thompson/Love. Reke is better than any wing they have also. So....

Fiz is in the past. I think he was a good coach that could have been really good for any type of rebuild, but I'm over it. I'm more so just wondering why so many of you are incapable of holding a non competitor accountable
