The Janitor

I know this refers to Brian Cardinal, but does anyone remember the origins of where it came from?

Sunshine Patrol - A group of Grizzlies fan who will always find the positive in every outcome.

Miserable - A Grizzlies fan who will always find the negative in every outcome.

Three Year Plan - 1) A phrase coined by Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley during the press conference introducing new draftees O.J. Mayo and Darrell Arthur to inform the public his expected time frame to build a contender.

3YP - Short for "three year plan". (origin bgassassin)

This is funny...By far in the top 10 of all time.....But in reference to OJ's nickname me and a couple of friends call him Yung Juice or Yung Juiceman is reference to OJ the Juiceman and Juicy J both are rappers.

How about something for Sam Young....The 24 Year Old Rookie...

Well who did you want me to get?: the feeling of being backed into a corner by other individuals (read:Geoff Calkins) and going on the defensive. Frequently results in one making an *** of oneself.

Draft promise: The self-inflicted hampering of a team's ability to draft a lottery-level talent in order to ensure that a projected 2nd round talent will not work out for other teams.

Thabeet is on - when Hasheem Thabeet gets 2 or more blocks. Hasheem just got his third block of the game. I guess you could say "Thabeet is on."

El Capitan - cause everything sounds sexier in Spanish. Nickname for Marc Gasol, co-captain of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Kobe Gay - a term I yell at the tv when Rudy Gay forces a shot. Rudy has 3 defenders on him and goes for the shot. There goes Kobe Gay.

Who's Your Haddadi? - What Hamed Haddadi told Shaq after he dunked on him.

Alley-Oooops! - that gdamn alley-oops play that Lionel Hollins calls when there is less than 1 second on the clock.

Holding the Mayo - playing good defense on OJ Mayo

Spreading the Mayo
- when OJ Mayo gets multiple assists

Black hole: 1) a region of space resulting from the collapse of a star; extremely high gravitational field. 2) a label placed basketball players that do nothing to help their team win, usually put on scorers; frequently unwarranted (read:Zach Randolph).

Sam Young's nickname is "The Renaissance Man." His UCONN teammates gave it to him because he would always play grand piano in the hotel lobby's when the team was on the road.

I think they should have MVZ headband night. As I said on the Tillery chat, imagine a sea of fans in yellow headbands chanting "MVZ" in unison.

That would be awesome. As long as I get to hear some MVZ chants I'm good.

Grizzlock'd = A game changing defensive stop made by the Grizzlies.

WELL PETE - A versatile phrase that needs no explanation if you have ever watched a home TV broadcast. Used so often that it can become mind-numbing, also known as a Touhy-ism. laugh.gif
