These pictures are from yesterday (Spanish NT presentation for the EuroBasket in September).

I would say he looks A LOT thinner than last season, at least in the first picture.

That's fine as long as he keeps his toughness.

I think he's lost a little weight, but I think the biggest change is the beard--instead of a bushy caveman type beard he's sporting something a little closer cropped now, which makes his face look less full.

As Marc has gotten smaller, he has gotten better. If he can be lighter on his feet, that would be good. He still needs to lift weights. No definition anywhere.

Marc has definitely toned UP. He isn't skinnier as much as he is more cut up and his weight is more evenly distributed as muscle. He's growing up!

Haha, anyhow, nice to see a new, invigorated Marc, and hope he tears it up this year.

Marc's a scrapper, period. He's probably the first post player we've had who can afford to lose weight without losing some bruise-ability.

just more assurance that Thaproject and Marc will see floor time together.

Not that I am fond of that eventuality, I just think it's gonna come to fruition.

I think you will see that in small spurts, but I don't particularly expect to see long stretches of it. Unless of course that HH gets more playing time. I just think that would be a lot of mins for Marc to play C with ZBo then turn around and spell him at the 4 as well.

agreed!
i would have liked pau if he wasnt such a word i cant say here.

thats a good weight for him.
imo, the only thing Thabeet has going for him is his mobility, athleticism and ability to get off his feet so fast. I've been saying since last college season, his D and O will not translate into the NBA with players his size and the 3 sec rule. if Gasol loses weight and becomes more mobile and athletic Thabeet would be losing his edge in that department since i dont think its that big of an edge.

he looks fit.

He looks much more fit than a year ago. Marc has already exceeded my original expectations and looks like he is ready to improve on last years performance.

Some of it is also the haircut. The mane he had last year gave him a more brooding look, which accentuated the burly feel. Shorter hair makes him looker younger and leaner.
