TNT just reported he has multiple facial fractures and is returning to Memphis for facial surgery.  Doesn't sound good at all.

I know several players have played with masks after broken facial bones.  Does anyone know if you can do that shortly after surgery, or will he most likely have to let it heal some before he would even be able to play with a protective mask?

TNT just reported during the Raptors/Wizards game that MC will have surgery Mon. for multiple facial fractures. No timetable for his return.

I honestly think we will be fine without both Conley and Beno tomorrow. Portland gave us their best punch on Saturday and Calathes did a great job running the show. Also, Russ Smith is very capable of giving us backup minutes. At the end of the day, their PG's are terrible defenders and we can use the same schemes against them with Calathes and Smith.

I'm expecting Beno to play tomorrow night, though. I hate to be over confident, but Portland is doing all they can against us and still losing ball games. Also, let's not forget we beat them in Memphis without Conley when Beno started. I believe they were without Lopez, but they had the rest of their guys.

Didn't Aldridge get hurt again in Memphis?

Does anyone with any medical knowledge know what a "serious facial injury" could entail?

Didn't Westbrook just miss 1 game?

I know its not good to compare two different injuries but Westbrook only missed 5 days after breaking his face so that gives me hope that he will be ready for game 1.  Conley has taken so much punishment this year though. We're going to have to start calling him the Bionic Man at this rate

This is bad. Dang that Mccollum. He needs to keep that chicken wing a little closer to himself.

Conley is a warrior. He's not going down without a fight. But man, this sucks.

That was not the same game. LMA played 39 minutes in the game Conley missed.

I don't expect Conley to let the face surgery keep him out long UNLESS its something to threaten his long term health. I believe a mask will allow him to be ready for the next round.

This. But I wonder how it would effect his game. And is Be no ready to go? This is a huge hit.

I'm no doctor, but I wouldn't expect it to effect his game much. The only thing I could see bothering him is swelling, but if he's still dealing with the swelling he wouldn't play. Guys play with masks all the time and do just fine. Apparently, this fracture is a lot closer to the eye region than Westbrook's face injury and it may be more close to what happened with Rondo. I think he was out for 10 days before returning back to the court. However, he probably could have returned earlier if Dallas really needed him on the court.
