Not really a must win, but it will be interesting to see if anyone sits players.

NBA playoffs start Saturday.

My birthday is on the 17th. A Grizz win would be a great B-Day present but I already got mine tonight! Go Grizz!

I hope the Grizzlies aren't content with just making the playoffs. We need this win against Dallas to avoid playing the Spurs in the playiffs in the first round. Stay Hungry Grizzlues!!!!

Do we have a tiebreaker against the warriors?

Grizzlies and Mavs are a combined 0-8 against the Spurs this season. This should be an epic battle for the 7th spot.
Grizzlies have won their last regular season home game the last three years. Lets make it 4 in a row!

No we don't. It is tied, so it would be determined by division record, which is retarded anyway.

Rest 'em, Coach. Give me Conley's ankle at or near 100% and I like our chances against the Spurs.

Shows how important matchups and athleticism are. The Rockets swept the Spurs this season.

I see no value in fighting to avoid the spurs ..the goal is a championship ...rest our guys and shoe the spurs we WANT them...that's a big statement to me...I do want a win against dallas in case they find a way to advance to later rounds ...7 gives us a very small probability at home court advantage

That would be a "big brass balls" statement.

Good stats Father Pat.
And here's another one - a W will give the Grizzlies the longest single-season home court W streak in franchise history.

TCB - now lets bring it on home!

My thoughts on the Spurs or OKC debate.

First, I LOVE the Grizzlies when we are the unquestioned underdog, which we would be in either series. However, for the last 2 months everyone has heard "avoid the Spurs, they're invincible." It just reminds me a lot of 2011 when we had "no chance" to beat them. Any overconfidence against the Spurs has been eradicated.

Second, playing the Spurs would give us a more manageable second round opponent. If we are serious about returning to the WCFs that would seem like a huge plus.

Third, playing OKC brings in a huge revenge situation. They will be eager to knock us out after last year and show what they would have done with Westbrook. Although we match up better, I think the Spurs are a little more banged up then they are leading people to believe and playing the Grizzlies will not help.

Fourth, we got swept...yes. But we lost 2 overtime games and another tight one at the end. We are a better team this year and I think that now that there is a clean slate we will get renewed energy.

No matter who we play, I do not expect a sweep and I expect it to to 7 games.

Thunder have double the interest in this game.
Besides playing the winner, the Thunder also have a Mavs 1st round draft pick riding on this game.
Mavs owe Thunder a 1st rounder, but it is top 20 protected for this year. A Mavs win guarantees that pick going to the Thunder.

Not sure what happens if Grizz win, because there would likely be 3 teams at 49 wins. They could still lose it.

Wow. That is interesting.

I was going to say the Grizzlies may want to lose to Dallas because it is an easier path to the playoffs if the Grizzlies don't have to face the Thunder. Clippers and Spurs to reach the NBA Finals. Those three teams have won 70% or more of their games this season.

By the way, the Grizzlies have won 70.5% of their games since being 13-17 on December 31st.

The Clippers aren't really much different from last year. Blake Griffin is better, yes. But their weaknesses are essentially the same.

Their record/seeding does not intimidate me at all.

It is easier to beat the Thunders than the Spurs. We match up well against them. Let the Mavericks upend the Spurs and we'll best them after eliminating the Thunders. Then, sweep the Clippers in the Finals.

That's the plan.
