Every year I pick a secondary out-of-market team to follow. Two years ago it was Denver. Last year it was Golden State.

This year it's these Pelicans. Anthony Davis is a freak of nature, and I can't wait to see what a season of good health has in store from him. I also think that Jrue's a tragically underrated point guard whose his size will be a lot for Conley to handle. Many were quick to chalk up his performance last year to being on an island in Philly last year, but I think he'll prove to a lot of people that he can play, this season.

But hey, enough of that. Grizzlies whoop some sorry Pelican tail, Wednesday! 97-90, Grizz.

Sounds good. But Grizz have to start playing better.

Still no Calathes action. I knew he'd end up getting spot minutes, but I didn't think it would be this little. Anyone have any idea why?

Ed needs to take notes on what true potential looks like from the Unibrow.

Joerger has said that he doesn't think Calathes is NBA ready yet + he wants to try to establish Bayless PG. In the post game interview, he said that he wants Bayless to focus on scoring rather than setting up his teammates.

This may not go over very well with some on the boards, but the key will be what happens when the Grizzlies bench comes on the court. Other than in the San Antonio game, most of the starters (including Tayshaun) have been positive when on the floor while the bench has been negative. We need the bench to come in being productive.

If you doubt the trend, check it yourself at http://popcornmachine.net/.

Why are we not seeing Jamaal Franklin play? Excuse me if I missed something.

The problem with the bench is the same problem with the starting lineup: there aren't enough playmakers to run the offense. The thing to look at is not who is playing well individually but who is playing well as a group.

We'll start seeing Franklin and Calathes once the regulars have sorted out their problems.

The fans will see Franklin and Calathes once they prove the coaches they deserve to play over QPon, Miller and Bayless.

This game is a real tester for the Grizzlies. New Orleans has solid inside-out players, great penetrators, solid perimeter shooting and very good defense. They are just building the chemistry on the team needed to become consistent winners. It will be a great test for the Grizzlies.

No way the "pelicans" will beat us in the Grindhouse. We need to have a great crowd, last night wasn't bad but this one needs to be better

I should be there if I can procur a babysitter for my four year old. Isn't Ryan Anderson out with a broken toe? Lucky for us cuz he was a Grizz killer last year.

Yeah, he is out. They have a lot of talent, but not a lot of shooters. If Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans start chucking the ball, we have a really good chance.

Zach guarding Ant Davis is a scary thought.

The southwest division is ridiculously talented top to bottom.
