This one will be up to our guards and bench. Their frontcourt is too big, too long, and too athletic for Marc and ZBo to have a big effect on the game offensively.

Mike Conley needs to play better this game so JB can focus on scoring and not picking up mc's slack.

jennings has wisdom tooth issues and recovering from surgery. the whole team better bring their A game or this will be a real blowout. The Pistons are for real this year.

Pack the paint on D & make them beat us with jump shots, like the Spurs do to us. Billups & their shooters aren't nearly as scary as their front court.

While they are in town why not strike up a deal to get them Prince back plus Ed Davis. I would take Villanueva and anyone else they want to give. :D

Detroit looked awesome last night, this will be an early test for the Grizzlies.

Good strategy - if we play them straight up then we probably won't get our first win. JSmoove and Drummond are too athletic for Zbo. We are going to have to put egos aside and play the players that are productive are have matchup advantages.

Exactly. I'd think Ed would be a better matchup against those guys, assuming he can play halfway respectable defense (which may be asking a lot from him). If he can't be effective when called upon in this matchup, then I don't know how much use he is to us.

Exactly, we saw how Blake Griffin & Deandre Jordan totally manhandled Z-Bo with their athleticism in the playoffs last year.

not sure if you are being sarcastic - you didn't use the proper emoticon. B)

JSmoove has always killed us, particularly against Zbo. Thats why we rarely ever beat the Hawks.

That is true. Guess which team he has his highest true shooting percentage against...us. His highest offensive rating throughout his career has been against us. He also averages 2 blocks a game in 17 games against us in his career. I think the "Grizz Killer" label is sufficient for him.

Grizz will have to shoot better to beat Detroit. This game could go either way.

Yea he is in "Grizz Killer" starting lineup. His athleticism gave Zbo fits. We had no one that could guard him. DET will not be an easy out if we cannot exploit there lack of outside shooting and old azz Chauncy Billups.

Griffin gets all the hype but JSmoove is a much more impactful player on defense and offense. Being stuck in ATL really hurt his marketability.

I posted this trade idea before. I would take Charlie V and Peyton Siva (a point guard with quickness). Charlie V could fill in at the 3 or 4 and Siva would be a good third string point guard. A Siva and Bayless backcourt would be quicker than a Calathes/Bayless backcourt, and would be peskier on defense. Our big man rotation would be set without Ed Davis in the way. Charlie V would help fill a role off our bench and would be happy with a change of scenery. ... the Pistons could use Prince as depth on the wing. The Pistons' front court is crowded with Greg Monroe, Drummond, Josh Smith, and Jonas Jerebko, but Ed Davis would give them another solid athlete and shot blocker. This would work for them if they went small off the bench with Jerebko pairing with Ed Davis inside.

I doubt they do it, but I would jump on that in a heartbeat.

Piston bigs are prone to turnovers and fouls. The Grizzlies need to exploit this early in the game and better than the Wizards did.

The team that played in the WCF last year should not have any problems with the team that won 29 games last year.

This is a win, or else the wheels are a bit wobbly on the Grizzlies bandwagon.
