As is normally the case, we'll bounce back from the cursed season opener with a W.

110-102 Grizzlies.

Trying to set expectations high so it's easier to bash him?

Rudy looked very good tonight. He was good on D, and looked very aggressive on offense. In the past, almost everything from Gay would come from 15+ feet out on a one-on-one dribble play. Today, he seemed to have a legitimate post game. I think he's improved.

An all-star player should be able to handle a not that good rookie and a shot to crap vet. James Harden got his opportunity and took advantage right off the bat with 37 points against a crap Detroit team. Why we got to wait 5 years for Gay to do the same?
And it's awesome that Gay worked on his post game because it highlights the reason why he needs to be dealt. He is supposed to be the perimeter playmaker on the team, the dude who gets buckets when you need it from the outside. That's what everybody said he would bring to the Grizz after the OKC series. Except the truth is that he's a post player and we don't need none of that when you got 2 better post options and 2 solid ones off the bench.

Did I say he's a post player? He's ADDED post moves to his game i.e. he had IMPROVED. He is still a perimeter threat, but he's now able to get higher percentage shots in the paint. Hint: that's a good thing.

My god, the mods have to do something about the trolling around here...

Gay is a clear cut post player, his perimeter game is porous outside of spot up jumpers

Gay is a lot better in the post and 15 feet in than trying to create tough fadeaway shots. But sometimes he is our best option in the post (sometimes).

This is the game the Grizzlies want to win badly. Warriors could be the surprise team but they're playing with a new roster. The Grizzlies have the least turnover and most continuity of anyone. They want to get out the gate fast in this season and before all these new teams can find themselves (LAKERS?). Warriors got a rookie and an Aussie from Milwaukee starting. We have to take advantage of that.

Like Cam; I have a bad feeling about this game. (I hope this feeling is just my acid re-flux acting up again)

Road games are tough. Grizz need Arthur, and the Grizz still can't shoot from the outside. However, the Grizz will soon start to do their grit and grind game and things will start looking better.

Curry will not be as bad as he was in the Warriors first game. The Aussie from Milwaukee played less than 20 minutes and did well. The Grizzlies must stay focused all 48 minutes, and with at least some 40% shooting, we'll beat these guys.
Prediction is Curry will have at least 26 pts, but the Grizz win by 3.

Dude come are you serious. He added what looks like a more polished posting arsenal to his game. That doesn't make him a post player. He has range and the ability to shoot over his defender. He is basically a lesser version of Kevin Durant.

I'm guessing you would say Lebron is a post player too?
