...to the Saints owner for $338 million. Really? $338 million for a team lacking success, any notable players and poor attendance?

Does this mean that there will be a bounty on Kobe and Lebron?

Bad jokes aside, looks like Stern not only kept the team in New Orleans, but made a nice little profit for the league in doing so.

1) Look at the history of the Aint's prior to recently; if anybody can be forward thinking....

2) Tom Benson's net worth is $1B, which is really not that much considering his purchase was about 1/3rd of that, but it really depends on his cash flow and liquid assets. How much does one man really need to live on? I don't think he will be hurting even if he goes a slightly red every year with his $600M + he has left over; despite possibly running a deficit, franchises are generally appreciating assets, and when he (or his estate) eventually flips the team, it will likely be for a profit.

Bottom line is this means the team stays in NOLA. Good for NOLA.

Too bad no Memphis locals are stepping up to the plate and buying the team from Heisley before he sells it to people who will move the team to a more viable NBA city faster than a Memphis mugging.
