Exactly. We drafted two rookies that are worth being intrigued in their potential, but Henry - if he ever freakin' signs - would have to play at ROY level before he'd be putting Mayo on the bench. And Allen hasn't shown the durability to play starters minutes if we even considered it. LOL. I think we're also forgetting that Vasquez hasn't signed either. But yeah Henry would have to play at an extremely high level that I don't see him achieving. And with Allen not just durability for playing long periods of time, but TOs for a person who doesn't have the ball much in his hands much. His TO rate is higher than all of our starters. |

i like mayo, but you seriosly think hel be better than dwade? you cant say yes and be serious. i would love it if im wrong but i seriously dont think its possible Dwyane Wade is 29 years old, injury prone, uses mostly athletism, slashing ability and speed to dominate his competition. OJ Mayo is 22 years old, hasn't missed a single game due to injury has a ceiling/upside/talent off the charts. Wade in his prime has basically been 26/4/6 with a peak year of 30/5/8. I think OJ has 27/5/7 peaking wise. So his peak isn't as high as Wade's statistically in my eyes. However, on the court please, not even close. OJ will have no holes in his offensive game when he hits is prime. He has the range Wade dreamed he had, can play off the ball, Wade has no concept of that. He will polish his driving ability, and hopefully get a post game. You guys need to look past the numbers remember , Tracy McGrady averaged 15.4 ppg as a Raptor. He didn't want to play with Vince Carter ( his cousin) wanted to be the man, so after his rookie contract ran out, he signed with Orlando then averaged 27ppg that season as the man. I see OJ following similar path if he doesn't see a change in Grizzlies Front Office. The future is bright for OJ Mayo. |

To lilojmayo, A great SG is a lot easier to find then a great big man. I like OJ a lot, but seriously, do you really think he is going to be top 3? I don't think so. Top 10, maybe. And for the record, its the MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES FANBOARDS, not the OJ Mayo brown-noser boards. I have made it no secret that I am a Laker team fan, A Kobe Fan, Tracy McGrady player fan, but in front of it all an OJ Mayo player fan, which defacto makes me a Grizzlies Fan. I have also come to really like Marc Gasol and even Rudy Gay to an extent. Are we talking about SGs only come Grizzlies fans, open your eyes stopped being blind. OJ is already a top 10 SG. Going into the season. 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Dwyane Wade 3. Brandon Roy 4. Joe Johnson 5. Monta Ellis 6. Manu Ginobili 7. OJ Mayo 8. Ray Allen 9. Andre Iguodala 10. Stephen Jackson by the end of the season ( this is his breakout year), he will surpass Brandon Roy and jump into the 3rd Best SG spot. |

Here are a few more SG's that should be on the list because they actually performed well enough to listed above your patron saint: Vince Carter - Still belongs above OJ. Just cause he chocked late in the playoffs his value can't be negated. Kevin Martin - Electric before the injury. He'll be back on top this year. Jamal Crawford - Plays off the bench but always logs starters minutes and scores in bunches. This is what I want OJ to do. Jason Terry - Even though he is on the tail end of his career, he still ranks above OJ based on production. J.R. Smith - Another bench guy that plays starters minutes. Streaky but effective - seems to have insane games at the FEF John Salmons - all he seems to do is turn teams around, very good system player. He also plays some good D, you know the other end of the court. That puts the juice at around 16th to 17th in my book because he is not better that Allen, A.I, or S Jax either. Not a bad place to be considering 3 of the other 4 starters are ranked in the top 10 at their positions. This is a team sport and what they really need is bench production – not that you care about any of that team stuff. Why don't you ask OJ Mayo if he thinks he's better than Stephen Jackson?
I think we know the answer. |

Did y'all hear the one about the All Star center with the checkered past that wanted to talk to his team about possibly extending his contract?
What, no?!? Maybe we should start a thread about it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

When i saw Vince Carter, i stopped reading. Vince Stats where even better than OJ Mayo's last season, and the way Vince performed on the biggest stage, please. Though I wouldn't mind a OJ Mayo for Vince Carter deal. Mayo+ Howard= 7 game series against Heat. |
