Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons has been diagnosed with a partial tear of the meniscus in his left knee. Parsons will be out indefinitely as the team fully evaluates the appropriate course of action.

“To suffer a setback like this after working so diligently to rebound from the injury to his right knee is obviously tough. That said, we know he will continue to work tirelessly to return to the court with his teammates and contribute,” General Manager Chris Wallace said. “Chandler has the full support of myself, Coach Fizz and the entire team and we are all focused on getting him healthy.”

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

re: Parsons. Be surprised if Parsons (knee) plays again for Grizzlies this season

Looks like we've got another Chris Wallace Special on our hands.

They screwed up just trying force him back into the game even with the minutes restriction when it was obvious he was not healthy. I don't care what your opinion is of Chandler but I hate it for him.

No shocker.  I'm not really buying the injury as an excuse, but whatever.  It just sucks that we had to **** over OUR team chemistry by letting him to continue to be a starter.  The team is in a full tailspin going down, and NOW he can no longer play.  Fans are not going to like it at all.

Whoever decided to pick up this chump in the offseason needs to be canned immediately.

Idiots man. Straight idiots in the front office. I never liked the signing and I sure as hell am not afraid to voice it.

You don't sign a guy that has had two knee surgeries (including a hybrid one) to a FULLY GAIRANTEED contract. Let alone for 4 years at $94 mil.

They had to jump the gun just like they did with a Jeff Green.

Meanwhile, if they had patience, they could have gone after Hayward or any number of sg/ sf players in this offseason.

Now we are truly handicapped for the next two seasons unless we try for a rebuild by trading Marc or Mike or both.

Tim McMahon saying he needs season ending knee surgery. Interesting, maybe that European report from a couple of months ago wasn't so crazy.

I'm taking a wild guess here and I'm going to say most didn't want a perpetually injured player.

Ain't no thing. Bad front office decisions don't cost anyone their job in Memphis.

Total shocker. There were no signs that this guy would have health problems when signed. NONE!

Well, who knows what the injury insurance rules are?

Parsons gets his $, but doesn't the team get a break so it can hire a replacement?

Especially if he's done permanently.

Fire Chris Wallace and Hollinger.. Also Grizz Medical Staff should have seen this coming. This just validates that the Grizz F.O is arguably the worst in the NBA.

That was my first thought. I wonder if they put something in there about him being seriously injured during teh first year of the contract or something. Who knows, maybe just wishful thinking on my part.

Apparently you've never heard of the 76ers or Kings or you just want to add fuel to the negativity fire.
