Bill Simmons thinks that Boston is "already the 4th best team in basketball" *yawn* Does anyone listen to his podcast? It's basically trades Boston can make

It sounds like you do.

^The Western teams still have better records though so I dont understand that one. The Grizz would be fighting for the division lead if they were in the Celtcs division

Nah, Grizz have just been too inconsistent to be the 4th best team currently. Sure, we might have had a stretch where we played like a Top 3 team in the league, but we are currently 6th in the West and also with a losing record against the Eastern Conference. These are the cold hard facts. And you might as well say that the Celtics are fighting for the top spot in the East with that logic.

Saying that other teams are equally justified in being listed as the 4th best team doesn't mean the Grizzlies aren't the 4th best.

Personally I think I would rank them this way (but it is only my opinion):

  • Golden State
  • San Antonio
  • Cleveland
  • Houston
  • Boston
  • Washington
  • Los Angeles
  • Utah
  • Memphis
The difference between 1 and 2 is greater than the difference between 5 and 9 by the way.

No, saying the 6th best team in the West is the 4th best team in the league is just silliness.

I agree with your rankings.

The Thunder are better than the Celtics and Wizards and they're the 7th seed. Grizz are better than the Rockets. You cant only look at team record

I agree with both of you completely.  If you want to say the difference between 4 and 9 isn't that great then that is fine.  If you want to say you feel the Grizzlies are better built for playoff basketball than the Rockets then that is fine too.  But to just disregard 5 teams that have better records to say the Grizzlies are better is really blasphemy.  They haven't played better.

Nope.

Why not in your opinion? He's better than both guys or they just don't make the Grizzlies better?  Looking for your thoughts.

You sure told us. Any great GM would've given up on the guy they gave a max contract to after just 20 games. And im sure other great Gms would've been lining up to trade for him, i mean they all could have easily fit him in their salary without goin over the luxury tax.

Why didn't you just make a thread sayin "Should the Grizzlies go after Lebron James?" would've been more realistic.

Bet yo *** that no team ottered anythin for Parsons, so there were no otters to entertain.

I think a healthy Parsons really gives this team a great dynamic wing. Even with that said, if you can get into talks with Gordon Hayward...I would trade Parsons faster than I can blink.

I still stand by that Hayward is the perfect realistic complement SF to pair with Mike and Marc.

Lebron would be that perfect fit.  just sayin'

Gordon is a good choice though
