Not sure if anyone will post here, but if you are watching some other NBA game and want to comment on it, maybe we could have one thread for that, all season.

Opening night:
Celtics at Heat

Mavs at LA (no Dirk, probably no Kobe)

(also Wiz at Cavs).

Mavericks don't look as bad as I thought they would but it's very surprising seeing OJ not logging a ton of minutes for them considering Dirk is out. I really want to see Dallas pull out the W and watch the internet explode.

Neither Boston nor Miami really played defense in that first game. And Miami has problems when LBJ is off the court. Rudy needs to take note for Veterans' Day: get him on the bench in foul trouble early and often.

Very odd seeing Nash in a Laker's uniform.

That was an intimidating lineup they put out there though.

They're also going to have problems against the bigger teams with demanding frontcourts (i.e The West).

I am ready to bet on home wins 76ers against Nuggets and Raptors against Pacers. As well as Grizzlies win at Clips.

^^^^^^^^Three matches^^^^^^^^

Thoughts?

I love the idea of this thread. My only gripe with these boards has been the fact that they're seldom attuned to what's going on in the rest of the league, so maybe this could help. I watch the Grizzlies the most of course, but I (as I'm sure most of the rest of you guys) watch a whole heck of a lot of basketball besides them. Usually when the Grizzlies aren't on, I default to the nationally televised games, or the local Knicks or Nets games, because I'm lazy, but I also have the choice (5 team) league pass. I'm looking to fill the four voids left in my choice sections if you guys have any suggestions!

So currently I'm watching the SA/NO game on NBAtv. No surprises with the Spurs and their gameplan. The Hornets have a lot of fight in them. Monty Williams must be a phenomenal motivator. Plus, Greivis looks phenomenal offensively, which bodes well for my fantasy team.

Nuggets looked pretty terrible - going to be interesting to see what the media response is to their darlings getting outplayed.

I was really hoping to see Detroit pull out the W against Houston but man Harden put on a show.

I think the Lakers v. Clippers game this Friday is going to be very interesting.

Clips can match Pau and Howard with Fake and an improved DJ.

If the Grizzlies reserves had trouble with Crawford and Bledsoe, I wonder how bad the Lakers will be.

James Harden follows up his 37 point performance with a 45 point performance on 14-19 shooting against the Hawks.

They're squad is looking pretty good which is scary considering they don't have Eric Gordon right now. The Southwest just won't quit...

Yessir. Any given team in the division is a serious threat vs any opponent on any given night.

I can't imagine how Orlando keeps winning with your prototypical star college players leading an NBA team (Glen Davis, Afflalo, Reddick). They play with passion. Even McRoberts looks inspired when he's out there. Their 3 best players were out yesterday and still got the come-back win with a 40 points 3rd quarter. They had started 5 guys combined slaary is $14m. (harringont, qrich, nelson, and hedo turkoglu are all inj).

Those guys probably want to prove they are better off without Howard, probably still upset with the mess they had to go through last year. They're kind of an underdog team right now with good pieces. They may not have the big name, but I have always believed that heart, chemistry, and hardwork can overcome the teams with the bigger names-I hope they make some noise this season.

Too early to tell, but I really feel Thabeet will have a decent year.
