2018 trade deadline thread

What if Plan B always was to keep Reke, because he's told them he wants to play in Memphis?

The answer might have been, "OK, but if we can get a 1st for you we have to take it."

Unless this was an option all along, you take even a bad deal; therefore it WAS an option.

Imagine, for example, if we got a high second or a low first from team X for a Reke Rental.
Then (pretend this is possible) in August a trade is offered where (somehow) we give up that pick to get Reke back.
Do you take that offer? At Lou W's pay level, yes you do.

I think if those were truisms, Wallace wouldn't have been scrambling to try to complete a deal for some French bench warmer and two future 2nds.

IMO

I said it when he was bought Wallace back as the GM 3 years ago, he will set the team back 5 years.

He is the worst type of GM: Reactive, short-sighted, no negotiating skills, and scared to make big moves.

Cherry on top: has one of the worst draft records in the league.

Hardly fair, when he didn't accept it, and we have no reason to believe he gave it serious consideration.
If I ask $8000 for my used car and you counter with $4000, you can't accuse me of trying to make a $4000 deal.

I would have traded him for French bread just to make sure we lose all year.

I do agree with just shipping by out for sure merging but no way I would give Ainge, the cheap *******, tyreke for 2 of Boston’s own seconds and a young guy we don’t want. Pick 58???

Boston have other second round picks, Tyreke wont stay. Not the way we handle things this past month and with the available money we will have next offseason. At least, if we traded Marc and had a bit more money and already resign him ala Lou, we would had a chance.

Well, okay, they asked PHI for Saric as well.

Again, if those two things were true, we wouldn't have been at this point today.

This just keeps getting worse.

Robert Pera and Chris Wallace have made Memphis the embarrassment of the NBA. Disheartening, and careless.

OK. If that one's true, only two options:

(1) Solid plan to keep Reke

(2) Wallace is beyond incompetent.

I hope it's 1.

Expiring contract, their only expiring contract are Jefferson's and Barton's🤔 , if they offer Barton Im on the kill Wallace bandwagon

Its 2, and there is no doubt, past proves that is the case.

Hopefully we sign Tyreke to a reasonable long term deal.

I prefer not to sign another player I feel is susceptible to more injuries.

That's pretty much everyone in the NBA.

I said more injuries. Not every player has been injured. I'm done with injury-prone signings.

Rigatoni or Macaroni?

My cell phone always mix things and confuses things that I occasionally write in Spanish, Italian, English and Portuguese. I can't talk and write none of those languages correct by the way, I just try it.
