Clippers not as stupid as the Grizzlies. When it’s over, it’s over.

Unless they win an NBA title in the next 10-15 years, its a pretty lopsided trade in Detroit's favor.

They give up an All-Star/All NBA level player for a player probably they draft in the 10-20 range and a 2nd rounder.

However, if they win an NBA title within the next decade or so, then they will have shown everybody.

18-19: $31.8M
10-20: $34.2M
20-21: $36.6M
21-22: $38.9M

That's his contract for the next four years. They're not going anywhere with him. Sometimes you gotta know when to hit the reset button.

First of all, I can't tell what or where the value the clippers got for trading Blake Griffin. Bradley's a free agent, Harris is a marginal player and the picks are throwaways.

Beyond that, I doubt this deal is made if it weren't for Deandre basically announcing that he won't be re-signing with the team. That is very different from the grizzlies situation and Mike and Marc.

Bottom line, the clippers were forced to make a deal and they made a bad one.

It's pretty funny DeAndre had to be begged to back out of the mavs deal. Now he's the only one of the stars left. He's definitely being dealt too

Clippers cut bait on an iffy injured player with a lot of guaranteed $$$ on his contract that was not going to help them win anything, not even a division title.

Grizzlies still trying to sell players who are out of their prime who were not good enough during their prime. While Blake would probably be considered the greatest Grizzlies player ever.

*Truth.

I have to agree with memphisX on the points he is making in this thread.   It still seems the clippers could have done better.

Nothing that the clippers got back in return will help them win a title either. They didn't cut bait, they got robbed.

‎Yea the Clips gave up a 28 year old face-of-the-franchise superstar for essentially.....3 months of Avery Bradley, 15 months of Tobias Harris and currently the 13th overall pick.‎

Funny thing is some people prolly think we could get a better deal for Gasol‎.

Once they get rid of Jordan they will have a clean slate to do whatever they want roster wise. Meanwhile we have 50 million dollars tied into two injured guys who arent even Allstars when healthy plus we owe draft picks coming up. The Clippers are in a much better spot than us right now

Clippers will look like geniuses in two years. They moved CP3, Blake and eventually Jordan for a slew of picks and tradeable quality role players who can be used to acquire more young players. Playoff teams will pay for guys like Lou, Bradley, Harris, Beverly.

The result of getting Ballmer, an owner who cares.

You are never going to get a “guaranteed” championship piece for aging/injured/highly paid veterans.  What they are doing is what we should have been doing 2-3 seasons ago the season AFTER the WCF when Marc Gasol made it clear winning wasn’t a priority.  Then the Parson’s deal never happens. Dealing our pick to Boston never happens.

We would have been bottoming out last season, this season and next season. Then had cap space in a league with very little cap space going around.

The fact is they begged chris paul to stay, they got robbed from Houston. They botched the deandre contract negotiations, and they sold blake for pennies on the dollar and they are probably about to get robbed on the Jordan deal that's coming.

If the grizzlies made that deal for marc, you guys would have been crapping all over that deal. And as for marc, I'll leave the fantasies you have about Marc to your own crazy mind.

The clippers look like laughingstocks right now.

Wow... agree that clippers are smart to hit the reset but deal feels rushed.  No value besides cap space. And not easy to get prime FAs if you don’t have players to surround them with.

if they want cap space that badly Tyreke for Lou......
