Rabb to the rescue!!

Recommended Posts

All the Grizz problems are over.  Rabb is 20 years old and as we found out this season,  youth = wins.  Veterans = losses.

As we get closer to the point of no return, I would love to see Rabb on the NBA court. I know it's only the 'G' League, but his numbers warrant a look. Many of these players just need a chance to show what they've got. Lot's of marginal college players turn into excellent pro players simply because they're given a chance.

16ppg in a league where they play no defense?  If he was scoring around twice that, it might be impressive.

My mother-in-law is 70+ years old and has had several shoulder & wrist surgeries and could average 12 in the G-league.

I'm more interested in seeing if he can rebound on this level. He rebounded well at Cal. He's averaging 10 rpg in less than 30 mins in the G League. Not every player has to be a scorer. Sure we suck at offense and need more, but the first step to scoring is having the ball. We are 25th in the league in rebounding differential. If he can go get the ball for us, that is a positive.

Memphis Hustle Stats-
Ivan Rabb: 29.3 MPG, 16.2 PPG, 57.6 FG%. 71.4 3pt%, 10 RPG, 2.2 APG, 1.6 BPG
Jarell Martin: 26.8 MPG, 11 PPG, 32 FG%, 40 3PT%, 5.5 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.5 BPG
Deyonta Davis: 25.8 MPG, 16.0 PPG, 55.6 FG%, 0.0 3pt%, 6.0 RPG, 0.0 APG, 3.0 BPG

Career D League Stats-
Ivan Rabb: 29.3 MPG, 16.2 PPG, 57.6 FG%. 71.4 3pt%, 10 RPG, 2.2 APG, 1.6 BPG
Jarell Martin: 28.3 MPG, 15.3 PPG, 42.9 FG%, 31.6 3pt%, 7.0 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.9 BPG
Deyonta Davis: 27.5 MPG, 11.4 PPG, 55.1 FG%, 0.0 3PT%, 8.2 RPG, 0.4 APG, 2.5 BPG

I don't know if Rabb is the answer but I do have to wonder what's the question is Martin and Davis are getting significantly more minutes than Rabb since the comparisons seem to favor Rabb in real game situations.

I'd like to see him get more minutes. I need him to develop an elbow and baseline jumper.

Maybe he will get some run tomorrow with Marc being listed as doubtful.

It would be nice to at least know what we have got. We know what we have in most of the rest of these guys already.

Thanks for proving my point.  Three 6-10 end of the bench scrubs instead of two.

They might as well trade rosters with "the Hustle" and let them be the Grizz for the rest of the season.

I usually never miss a game on the tube but didn't bother to watch the last game.  Maybe I'll start watching again when Conley is back.
