Memphis doesn't need anymore shooters, people didn't want to admit it but one of the biggest problems to the former team was that neither the starting 2 guard nor the starting sf could space the floor from the perimeter. An injured Quincy Pondexter only made those problems worse. It's the whole fit thing again, the front office traded away a post player who couldn't shoot well for a guy who's solid from midrange/3 ptrs and another 3 point specialist. Unless Hollins decides to throw out a Wroten/Allen/Davis/Randolph/Pittman, there aren't any problems with lack of shooters on the court.

I agree with you on that.

Al Herrington back tonight for Orlando. He has always been a troubling guy for us.

Naaah. We're good to go.. Bayless, mike, qpon, daye can all shoot and even TA and TW sometimes. All of our bigs are a threat outside. It's time. We are ready to go :)/>

Agreed. The great thing about the way we look at the moment is that everyone is contributing and a different guy or two is the major contributor each game, rather than relying on the same one or two so that defenses can key up on them.

Davis and Arthur should be good against him

They definitely would be, but Hollins, being the hard headed guy that he is, will probably keep Zbo on him most of the game, which will mean Harrington will rain down threes on us all night and go for 30+ and keep them within firing distance when it should just be an absolute walkover.

Where? Grizzlies 3 Point Shooting Percentage: Tony Allen - 16.7% Jerryd Bayless - 33.0% Tayshaun Prince - 37.5% Mike Conley - 37.6% Quincy Pondexter - 42.0% Austin Daye - 43.8% I assume the lack of shooting problem comes from Tony Allen because every one else who takes threes makes them at a nice enough percentage or is it someone else you want replaced in the lineup to add a shooter?

I believe we still need to add a shooter around the 40% percentage... maybe just sign CJ. Maybe Vujacic...

What we need is players that can shoot a decent percentage from around the court not just behind the arch.

Man 3s are important in this league... they can make teams climb mountains like the Clipps did with us last year; can make teams close games like the Heat did with the Thunder. We need as much shooters as we could get... we already have plent... yes. One more will not hurt. If we could put MC, JBay and TW penetrating and have always 2 wing players out the 3 point line to space things for Marc and Zbo we will be more than dangeour... we will be letal.

QPon, JBay, Daye, Prince and ?. I want that insurance player... imagine if a injurie happen or if Qpon is not ready or better than that... think about it is always good to have more options because you get more chance to get a player in a hot shooting day.

CJ is really cheap. Make a lot of sense to sign him. Or maybe we go for a guy with more experience in Vujacic (if we could).

I would love to sign cj... Why not?

I love Pete and Sean's new gigs. Are they still in the lobby?

Had a few beers with the wife, split a salad and some nachos at Alfred's, got our free t shirts and are in our seats waiting for this beat down to commence. Love this team. After tonight, six in a row and our coach gets above .500. Feeling great tonight! Grinding forth and making the league take notice of the Bears! Boom!

Harrington is dressed because they have to have eight people in uniform, not because he is likely to play. He's still recovering from his knee injury.

Magic backing five guys into the paint on defense. Expect to see Bayless, Daye and Pondexter soon to break that logjam.

Bayless is listed as day to day after needing stitches from the last game. Is he suited up?

Mike for three. Advantage of having Tayshaun, he can play the point forward role.

I agree with you about fit Zbo Rudy and tony are a bad fit "spacing wise"..

Tayahaun is not an upgrade though just watch how bad the spacing is with starting unit. Prince likes to shoot midrange jumpers that's no help to Zbo because princes defenders still are able to keep one foot in paint. Qpon helps because he stands begin arc which forces defenders to play him closer and out of the paint.

The best way to increase spacing with starters is to allow Prince to handle the ball and Conley spot up for threes. Watch for that.

You can see him sitting on the bench. (The headband is distinctive.)
